Love this cook book. There are some delicious recipes inside especially the Ugly Biscuits recipe.

I enjoyed the little stories and all the recipes sound easy and delicious. I saw the author on Talk of Alabama and I wanted to make Ugly Biscuits.

I love the recipes and the family stories. It makes me want to write my family stories. My favorite recipe so far is the ugly biscuits. They are absolutely delicious and you can make them in a hurry! I know the author. I went to high school with her and her husband. I love hearing the history of the area and of their extended family. I have bought this cookbook for all my dear friends and female relatives. They all enjoy the recipes very much. We love how simple and down the earth the recipes are. Danna is a true southern lady who shares her love of cooking, family, country and God with the reader. The recipes are well written, easy to follow and taste amazing. Nanny Swan’s Chicken and Dressing is delicious. I think chicken and dressing is going to be a regular part of my supper and not just something I serve during the holidays. Good recipes.

Recipes are OK, but NO photos of finished recipes. Most of the photos in the book are family pics. A few are ok, but whole book is family photos and not cooked dishes.

It was not the cookbook I was looking for in your selections. Good basic Southern Cookbook but I will only use 4 or 5 recipes from the book. I do not like all the stories with the recipes. I would rather there be more things to make rather than reading family stories. Just my opinion!

I have just gotten my cookbook and can hardly wait to make some of the recipes. There are stories to read about Danna’s family. Also there are many pictures of hand written recipes. It’s a lovely book.

To much family information could have put in more recipes. I am not interested in her grandma or her parents.
