These are smaller than the picture perception
These are very narrow hinges. A 1/4" mortise is a tad too wide for them and would require a metric router bit to properly install. Screws supplied are the cheap, soft china variety that are guaranteed to round out if the driver bit slips once. Finish is a bit disappointing as some of the casting wasn't properly deburred before plating thus leaving a sharp ragged looking edge on some parts. Not sure how well these will hold up under excessive use.

Sturdy little hinge, good finish
Easy to mortise for this hinge. Liked the integral lid stop.

These are cheap hinges
They worked for what I used them for but they are very cheap. Don’t over expect on these.

Cheap junk
Roughly finished. Opening and closing the hinge is not smooth and is inconsistent. Weak! You can break them with your hands. JUNK

Impressed at this price point
I used the "gold" colored ones for a music box I just finished for my granddaughter. At .23" in width they're a very nice fit in a mortise made with a 1/4" bit, contrary to some other reviews I read here. That's 1/100 of an inch of clearance on each side of the hinge! I wouldn't want it any tighter than that! I noticed that a few of them didn't open quite a full 90 degrees when first taken out of the package but after being worked back and forth a couple times they went just past 90 like they should so I assume a bit of whatever they are finished with got in the hinge and needed to work loose. This was only on a couple of them though out of a pack of 24 hinges. I had no problem running the tiny screws with a jewelers screwdriver by fist poking a bit of a hole with a small point then applying paste wax to the threads (in my case it was in myrtle wood that's not super hard. May be an issue in very hard material.Overall, not a bad way to go for small box making. I've used high dollar quadrant hinges and that'd be the way to go for super premium work but they're expensive and fussy and these are quite adequate for lots of uses, much less expensive, and easier to install. Will update if any durability issues present themselves going forward.
