or no socks at all (but I got blisters really fast) or a "dance thong" which felt even worse than bare-feet
UPDATE:After 6 months or so using these, I really love them. If I forget these at home I'm really bummed. Raised the scoring to 5 stars. I also just noticed lately it has a RIGHT/LEFT indicator inside the shoe. Great Product!ORIGINAL REVIEW:I got these for modern dancing classes which till now I was dancing with socks on which is a bit dangerous, or no socks at all (but I got blisters really fast) or a "dance thong" which felt even worse than bare-feet. I know I have sensitive feet so I searched for a solution. I saw some other dancers using a similar product like this and decided to give it a try. When I received them and put them on I was a bit disappointed because it feels tougher than I imagined. I thought it's a soft fabric like a sock almost. It's more like a ballet shoe only cut in the middle. I even think it's rougher than the normal leather ballet shoe which was surprising. But I gave it a try of course. Putting these on I felt like the adjustable straps are a bit useless for me because it was on the longest setting and it still felt a bit tight but I guess when time passes and the rubber is weakened it can come handy to shorten the straps then.I have tried these for the first time yesterday. Walking with these felt weird but as soon as I started dancing it felt very natural and comfy. I was highly impressed for the first hour of dancing but then started to feel my feet blistering again. Going back to socks then felt weird and lacking support to the gap under the toes. I will have to further try using these for a while before I get a better idea if it's the solution that I was looking for or not.

Great bang for your buck!
These came within 2 days of ordering them, which I didn't expect but was very pleased with. I ordered a size 7, and they were true to size! They are not so tight that you have to wear them out just to feel comfortable, but snug enough to dance and be active in. I have worn them for dance practice and for a performance, and they have yet to show any real signs of wear. Highly recommend, great bang for your buck!

Fit small
My girls wear size 1 or 2 in regular shoes. I wasn't sure if I should order size 1 or 2 in these, so I ordered one of each. Weird thing is the Size 2's were snugger than the size 1's! I would suggest ordering a size up, but since that didn't work for us, maybe order 2 sizes up??

These shoes fit as expected. They arrived faster than expected. Very happy daughter when her new shoes arrived before her dance camp.

Great shoes!
As expected, these shoes arrived on time. I immediately slipped them on. Sadly thry didn't have have half sizes, I sized up. So it wasn't a suprise that they were a little big. These shoes are perfect for lyrical and contemporary pieces. If you stretch, they make perfect stretch wear. I would defiantly recommend these!

Twylas
My daughter still wears her twylas to dance and they have withstood the test of time. She says they were pretty comfortable from the get go.

I did "scratch" them up a little on the bottom a little before dancing and they worked beautifully.
I dance contemporary and jazz and have been trying to find an alternative to the "footsie type" shoes that twist and pull off. These are great--feel much more grounded! I did "scratch" them up a little on the bottom a little before dancing and they worked beautifully.
