A great sandwich toaster that makes great sealed toasted sandwiches. I bought it primarily to make egg toasties. Really easy to use, just butter the bread, place butter side down on the hot plate, push the bread into the recesses slighting then break an egg onto it and place the top slice on (butter side up) and close. Takes about 4 minutes. Cleaning is so much easier as the plates are removable. Ham and cheese toasties are great too.

Easy to Clean - 5/5 stars : Easily removeable plates, easy to clean.Temperature Control - 3/5 stars : You turn it on, that is all there is too it but that is the same for any toastie machine really.Heat Output 3/5 Stars : It takes a while to heat up, about the time it takes to prepare the toastie ingredients themselves and it isn't too quick at heating so if you like your toasties really quite crunchy, it will take a bit of waiting.With that out of the way, I will say that this toastie maker is a good overall package as long as you use the correct bread and align it in the machine the correct way!That is, Danish White is #1, or any small slice bread, and place them in the toastie machine with the top of the bread pointing outwards to the sides. The toasties are light, calorie innocent, and very satisfying. I went though 3 other toastie machines that all got returned before settling on this one.

Excellent product so quick and easy and nice cheap tea

The first Breville toasted sandwich maker was launched in 1974 and was an instant hit, so I thought I would take a chance on the brand. It's very easy to use and makes perfect toasties. The hot plates are easy to remove and clean. They click back into place effortlessly. Provided that you do not over-stuff the sandwiches, there are no problems. If they do leak, it is fiddly, but not difficult to clean it out. The design is straigtforword and simple and, after fifty years of making them, Breville cannot be beaten. I have resisted getting yet more counter-top clutter, but this has become a firm favourite. Use ordinary medium or thick cut sliced bread - the machine is designed to work with the size of a normal loaf and its texture.

Really good quality item. Easy to clean. Yes, it’s expensive compared to a lot of the items out there but it is a good item and I would say it’s worth the money. I would give it five stars definitely.

I love the Breville sandwich toaster and I wanted to stick with the old brand. It is good and does a lovely toastie, the plates can be removed to clean which is so much better than having to almost soak the whole thing. I had thought that the hinges would work in such a way that they would almost come up and over, like a panini toaster so I could do large sandwiches and also paninis, unfortunately that isn't the case so I would say. yes this is a great toastie maker but if you want to be able to do larger sandwiches and paninis just go for a panini toaster as the hinges don't come up and over the sandwich so it kind of toasts half of it and then you have to swap it over and it all gets a bit squashed looking and not quite toasted to perfection.

The media could not be loaded.  We had a Breville Sandwich toaster back in the 80s and although, of course I have had toasted sandwiches since, I've not had one from a Breville since the 90s I reckon!Ordered this one from Amazon at 7am and it arrived the same day before 9pm! Good old Prime....The "patented scissor action" unlocks that memory. Nothing else looks or tastes like a Breville toastie!This one has removable plates so cleaning will be a breeze. It has a metal stainless steel casing, there is no heat setting but it's an 850w element.It was like getting reacquainted with an old friend 😊
