It is as described and do what it is supposed to do, no need to connect the red power cable unless it’s to the ACC, the brown one does nothing and the blue wire out is directly connected to the red as a power output, meaning once there’s power on the blue, there is on the red!

Hooked it to a factory system to add an amp in a Jeep Patriot, make sure you get your wiring diagram for your factory stereo and follow your - and + hook ups correct. I had to rewire because of crossing them up and it made an aweful noise when I tried to play the radio. Cost me another 2 hours rewiring everything again. As far as the quality and workmanship it is doing a fine job. Be sure to check your gains on the converter before putting your dash back together. I had to take mine back apart to adjust them.

When wired as instructed it stays on all the time. The blue wire is useless. There's a backend between the blue and positive wires that keeps the thing on all the time. I wired the red wire to the ignition wire so it doesn't keep everything connected to the blue wire on. Just cut the blue wire off and not use it or tire it to the red wire to an accessory circuit.

I spent hours, and multiple iterations of harnesses to get an aftermarket Android stereo to work with my 2007 Toyota Highlander with JBL premium sound system. I was getting terrible feedback/static, and it turns out what I needed was to integrate this to reduce the signal going into the JBL amp. Worked like a charm when combined with a Metra 70-8113 harness.
