I bought this digital non-contact thermometer because of the price and decent reviews. However, beings I'm technologically challenged and of an older generation, I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to use it. First off, to change the setting from Celsius to Fahrenheit you have to take off the panel where the battery goes. Even more challenging than trying to get the cover off is locating this tiny switch - Ugh! By this time I was pretty frustrated. I think I reached max frustration when I tried to use the thermometer. Yes, I attempted to read the manual but it was confusing to this older generation, non-techy person. I'm sure you youngsters would have it figured out in less than 5 minutes. I will keep it since I don't use it very often. It's not so much the product as it is the person trying to use it.

I spent ages reading various reviews for pretty much every forehead thermometer available on Amazon and settled on this one for the stylish compact design along with a reasonable price and, so far, I'm glad I did.The item, as you can see from my pictures, is exactly as described. It has a nice clear LCD screen and, more importantly, the readings seem accurate.Because of the lack of buttons, it's a bit fiddly switching modes (hold down mute for 5 seconds to change from ℉ to ℃ etc...) plus it means you can't (well I couldn't) figure it out without reading the small instruction manual. However, that's a minor quibble as once you've set the unit of temperature you're unlikely to be chopping and changing.I guess the same could be said for switching between checking surface and forehead temperatures as that's more likely to be switched regularly. For that, with the unit powered off, you hold down the Memory button for 3 seconds and it'll power on in surface mode. No need to switch back as it defaults to forehead mode.Overall I'm pleased with my purchase and would recommend this if you're in the market for a forehead thermometer.

So glad I bought this thermometer. I initially bought it for my newborn son to make sure we keep him warm enough and monitor his temperature when he gets a fever. I also realised I can check the temperature of the bottled milk and food he eats. It’s so easy to use and I’m glad the manual is in plain English. Also I was surprised the batteries came included.

I was looking for an accurate forehead thermometer and this is very accurate. Taking a reading of myself, then my daughter then repeating this process gave the same readings of our body temp. Seems robust - it fell accidently from counter height onto a hard floor with no problem. Not the cheapest but I've heard these are unreliable, so spent a lot of time researching and this seemed to be the best price point. Very pleased, so much so my girlfriend is buying one.

This is a good basic simple to use tool of average DIY/home use quality. Batteries are supplied as is a pouch and instructions. However readings from it seem variable and inconsistent. It may work well and accurately under laboratory conditions but I do not have those conditions. The readings seem to be no where near the accuracy and consistency of an old fashioned thermometer9 in mouth or under arm etc.)

Thermometer tells me the batteries are low so i replaced them with brand new quality batteries and every time i turn it on it shows red with a low battery sign. You would think that something this important would at least work for a few months but no it's another cheap Chinese rip off item on Amazon
