Powhatan Indian Archaeology
A great book dealing with the archaeology of the Powhatan Indians of Virginia. The work done at Chief Powhatan's capital, a newly established nation park, was of special interest. Most of the modern Powhatan tribes have now received federal recognition. This book is a great addition to any Native American collection.

Great read if you are interested in early Virginia history
If you enjoy historical archaeology and the early history of Virginia, this book will be right up your alley. Gallivan has an easy-to-follow writing style (even for non-specialists). Even as someone with a fair bit of knowledge on this topic, I learned a lot about indigenous and archaeological perspectives on this period.
