Know your roots.
Pete Carr is a guitarist's guitarist and, like so many, a largely unsung hero. First exposed to him as 1/2 of Leblanc & Carr, he was originally a member of Hourglass - which should put him in a certain league alone. He went on to countless sessions and came to roost at Muscle Shoals where he's backed everyone from Bob Seger to Paul Simon. This is a lovely album - 9 blissful instrumentals that range from just plain tastefully understated to full-blown workouts with a hint of funk and the magic that was such a huge part of Muscle Shoals. Dig in and learn more about this closet superstar...ET

Great album and fine guitarist.
Pete Carr was a studio musician for the famous Muscle Shoals ( recording ) Sound Studio in Alabama. Along with Lenny LeBlanc, who also plays on this album, LeBlanc and Carr had one minor Top 40 hit entitled "Falling". One of Pete Carr's more famous songs is his singing guitar work on Bob Seger's hit, "Mainstreet". It was so neat to see this album appear on CD ! While working at a few radio stations, I always tried to include a few selections into my playlist. Currently, some selections are being used during the radio broadcasts and the post game highlights for the WNBA team, the San Antonio Silver Stars. I highly recommend this CD especially if the vinyl album was in one's collection in the mid 70's. ENJOY !

Amazing instrumental rock, rythem & blues guitar from a great era of music
I originally bought this LP when it came out in the late 1970's and upgraded to the CD version here to be able to play it on more formats. As the title says, there's no lyrics, but some amazing rock, jazz and R&B guitar work with super sax work, keyboards, bass, etc. You don't hear music like this these days. Thank goodness great music like this is still out there.

THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST UNKNOWN GUITAR ALBUMS OF ALL TIME! PETE CARR HAS PLAYED ON DOZENS OF ALBUMS OVER THE LAST THIRTY YEARS. ON THIS HIS FIRST SOLO ALBUM HEPUTS TOGETHER SOME OF THE BEST GUITAR PLAYING YOU WILL EVER HEAR. I'D PUT THIS ALBUM UP THERE WITH JEFF BECK'S BLOW BY BLOW-IT'S THAT GREAT!! Great album!
This was a modern day replacement for my Dad's 8-track version he had of this album. He was surprised to see it on a CD since he has not been able to listen to the album since like 1982!

Great album from the 70's
While this may not have been a commercial success, Pete Carr is a top notch guitarist and composer. Reminiscent of the Muscle Shoals sound of the 70's.

Pete Carr playing the guitar.
It is Pete Carr playing the guitar at his best. Awesome studio musician. The work is 30 years old. The disc shows his style.

Vous aimez “Blow By Blow” de Jeff Beck ? Ce Pete Carr est pour vous. Un guitariste remarquable de musicalité pour un album 100 % instrumental typique des seventies.
