Such a simple set of additions but they add so much to the encounter variety. Besides the fifteen new encounters, some of which force you and your companions to rethink your old strategies, you also get a one-time character ability. Now your character choice matters. It's no longer a simple matter of choosing between the grim looking warrior type to the shady looking sort of thief. These abilities vary from character to character and can influence how you play out an encounter. And since you can only use these abilities once per game, you have to pick and choose when or if you use it.So, if you've played through the base game enough to know pretty much how to handle any given encounter, then I highly recommend buying this expansion. And even if you're new to the game and you're thinking of starting out with more than just the base game, get this expansion first. It adds a nice amount of variety without changing any of the major game play mechanics.

Premise of the game is that you are a group of adventurers that have made it to the bottom of a dungeon and have killed the Big Bad Monster and taken his Loot, and now you have to make it back out.....alive. This is a game where you have to work together, but also deflect damage in the direction of other people. Every monster has a different profile and abilities with which your group has to contend. Not a very good introductory game for non-gamers, but very good with an experienced group. You will have a lot of fun backstabbing your buddies.

Cutthroat Caverns is an absolutely... well cutthroat game. This expansion to it, however, leaves a little to be desired. The game's claim to importance, the thing this game is supposed to add is character abilities. Unfortunately, if one buys the 4th expansion, which is useful storage in addition to adding more versatile character abilities, one finds that not only does that game provide other abilities, which cannot be used with the ones in this game, the ones from the 4th expansion are more versatile, interesting, and add more to the game. In addition, the character abilities can only be used once per game, making their usefulness and individuality somewhat limited. This expansion adds some interesting foes to fight, but beyond that, this expansion adds very little to be excited for.

I Love the original Cutthroat Caverns and this expansion just adds a bit more to flesh out the experience. I just need this game to have a heavier rotation in my gaming group.

Great expansion, prompt delivery. A really enjoyable game to being with; this adds even more playability. Highly suggest. '.and trust no one.'

The contents of the package was fine, but the packaging that the product came in was pretty gnarled and chewed up looking. For this reason it gets 3 stars. When purchasing a gift for someone I don't like to appear as though what I am giving looks heavily used.

Now which character you choose means more than a pretty picture, some of the new monsters are cool too, must have.

not the greatest exspansion for the money but ok. I would just customize it myself if I knew what I was getting. Just not alought for the money.

You work together to slay the monsters but in the end.. only the person who delivers the killing blow gains any victory!A fun game strategy game that is a great addition to any game night.
