The necklace arrived in a nice box, I was pleased with size of pearls, color etc. the clasp is very difficult to open and close. So disappointing.Ruined the edge of my nails.Would love a magnetic clasp.

Before we married, my finance told me that she remembers her mother's strand of pearls, but it was lost and not to be found. Not knowing much about jewelry, I eventually found colleagues at work who know pearls and I was able to get my pearl smarts. So, under the tree this year, my lady found a flat blue box and was moved to tears when she opened it. She hasn't taken the strand off, except for during her shower. The presentation in the jewelry box really added to the gift giving and the necklace itself is striking. The gold clasp and silk threading is characteristic of much more expensive necklaces. I suggest paying more to get the larger pearls (I got the 8-9 mm size), and get something larger than 18 inch length, I got 20 in, but my wife is slender and it looks nice on her, with the strand reaching down just below the collarbone. If the intended recipient of the strand is a larger person, it's important to make sure the strand is long enough. If you can find out his/her neck circumference (distance around the neck) and add about 4 inches to that, the receipient will be able to model it out of the box, instead of returning it for a larger strand. To the very critical eye however, I can see that the pearls themselves are not perfectly spherical and that the small 1 mm variations in the size of the pearls can be noticeable. However, my lady did not see this, and I'm not bringing it up. If she does decide that she wants more consistency in the necklace, my friends tell me I can get it restrung and have the pearls ordered in increasing size to the middle. If that doesn't work, it looks like we are in the market for much higher priced strands.

The pearls were an anniversary gift for my wife. She was very happy with them. The pearls were nicely matched in both color and size. They arrived in a very nice gift box, which my wife also liked. I would not hesitate to purchase other products from The Pearl Source.

Clasp is so hard to manage, my husband has to put it on and take off. Pushing the male end of clasp together to get it into female end causes sharp edges to break through the skin on my fingers! Wish I had gotten a different brand. SO disappointed!!

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm writing this review to receive a free pair of cultured pearl stud earrings also I'm not a jeweler and don't know much of anything about pearls. I ordered the AAAA quality white gold necklace for my wife for valentines day. I found it difficult to decide which size to get and ultimately I just went with my max budget and got 7-8mm. I haven't verified the size with a caliper so I'm not sure if 7-8 means mostly 7, 8 or a balanced mix. The pearls I received looked like they were all about the same size, not perfectly round like a ball bearing but they were all oriented the same way which helped them look uniform. The packaging was a box in a box design. The outer box had some bubbling and the inner box was pealing a little on the outside. In general the box is low quality, just good enough that I wasn't going to try to find something else to present them with. Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase. I can't say these are truly good quality because I wouldn't know, I can say that my wife really likes them.

This was a gift for my mother. She wore pearls for her wedding in 1950, but they were lost. This summer my daughter is her first grandchild to get married, and I thought it would be special for my mom to be able to wear pearls. The came quickly in a lovely box and were nicely displayed. The sizing was uniform, quality is in this product, and they are beautiful. I had her try them on and the 18" length hung nicely around her neck. The clasp is a bit tricky to figure out (maybe it's standard for pearls, I don't know), but an older person would need help with it. A plus for the clasp is that it won't come undone and you won't loose the necklace easily. Go to a website to check the size of the pearls you are ordering, these are not large, but not tiny either. So if you have a certain size, length, or look in mind check it out before you buy. Both of us are very happy with this necklace, it will look great on her, and it will become a special piece of jewelry for my mom with happy memories attached.

I love the luster of the pearls.
