CloverSoft Touch Hook-Size G7/4mm

These are the best hooks Iβve ever used.
I love clover soft touch crochet hooks. I crochet with a knife hold and have very small hands. They slide in and out of every kind of yarn. No splitting and theyβre so strong! They take a little bit of getting used to because I was so used to fighting my yarn with other hooks. These are like a knife slicing through butter. I wish they were available in every size imaginable because I would use them on all my projects if I could. They can be a little pricey but worth every penny. I crochet professionally and either give my projects away to my family or sell them.

This one works best for my hand/wrist arthritis ...
I have fairly severe osteoarthritis in my hands and wrists -- especially in my right hand, my "hook" hand. I've tried almost every hook available, and this is the one I use most often. It's not perfect, but it IS the most comfortable for me. It fits my hand nicely, isn't too long or too short, and the shape is easy to hold and maneuver. I should add that I hold my hook "knife style," rather than "pencil style."I'm using this 3.75mm (size F) hook to make some daisy-shaped coasters with cotton yarn. No issues at all with quality; the metal part is securely embedded in the plastic handle, and it's totally smooth (no snags). I have these Soft Touch hooks in several sizes and use them for both yarn and thread (I have the 1.75mm, 1.50mm, and 1.25mm sizes for thread work). No more searching for the "best" hook -- for me, this one works the best.

Handle short makes hand hurt
The hook is smooth and does slide over the yarn easy, however the handle is to short and it is square like. After using it for a short time my hand and wrist start to hurt. I will use it in a pinch but not for long. It just does not fit in my hand and it isnβt a smooth hold, I do not like the flat side of the handle at all.

Kind of Disappointed : (
I heard many great things about the Clover Soft Touch Crochet Hook and in all my searchings this one repeatedly was rated highly. I wore my less expensive 3mm hook out (yes, it's possible : ) so I treated myself to the Clover Soft Touch. Much to my chagrin when I excitedly started using the hook it felt like the handle was kind of scraping my palm. Upon further inspection there is a seam on both sides of the handle (where the two sides are joined) that isn't flush with the rest of the handle and is rough. I knew that with the amount of time I spend crocheting, that trivial little seam will cause irritation in my palm. Since I didn't want to send it back (because I'm lazy that way) I decided to try sanding the seam down with sand paper so it's flush with the handle. The sanding worked so I'll be keeping and using the hook. I know if you buy these hooks in a set it's quite pricey, so I'm wondering if I got a bum hook. I don't know. I don't think I'll be taking any more chances buying another one (even though the sanding worked) when I eventually wear out the other hooks I have.Addendum: I've been using this hook for a little while now since I sanded the rough seam and I have to say that I really do like this hook. I have smaller hands and my stitches are naturally tighter with this hook which is perfect for amigurumi work. I may buy another size in this hook again, even if I have to sand off the seam of each hook in order to use it. I'm going to leave my 3 star rating because I don't think I should have to use sandpaper on the handle... that step should be done by the makers of the hook.

The hook so nice I bought it twice!
I love this hook!It glides easily while I'm crocheting. It doesn't snag or catch. It's just so smooth! I've been making progress on my projects faster since buying this hook.I didn't think the handle shape would make too big of a difference but it really does! My hands don't get tired near as fast as they do with other hooks.I love this hook so much that when I lost it mid-project I went out and bought a new one instead of going back to the other hooks I have. I don't know what I'm going to do with them now that I've used this one. I think I'm spoiled. Lol

Don't Love It
I wanted to love this Clover crochet hook, but I don't. It is three times the cost of my Boye ergonomic crochet hook and not as comfortable. The shaft is made of hard plastic, and the "cushioning" is not substantial. The shaft is about an inch shorter than my Boye, which means the hard plastic end jabs into my palm every time I pull through a loop. I have tried to hold the hook many different ways to alleviate this issue but to no avail. The second problem is with the hook itself. It's supposed to be a 5 mm H-hook, but it has to be smaller than the Boye. I am using the Loops & Threads Impeccable Yarn sold by Michaels, which recommends an H hook, but this Clover hook drops stitches like crazy. I don't have that problem with my 5mm Boye.

Glad I tried it! Love the grip, and use it for all my amigurumi projects
Great hook. I am an avid susan bates type hook user and I was afraid that I wouldn't like this hook style, but I decided to try it anyway because people said good things and I wanted to try the comfort grip for my smaller hook sizes.I am glad I did because the hook is great! It took me a few hats to completely get used to it but I love it now. I still use susan bates when I am using 6mm hooks and bigger but for anything smaller than 6mm clover hooks are my go to because the grip really makes a differance for me with the smaller hooks! It is my go to for all my amigurumi projects!!!

Child sized crochet hook
There's a wide variety if brands of crochet hooks. So I'm experimenting by purchasing different brands of crochet hooks in the sizes I don't have. I was expecting a soft handled crochet hook, there was nothing soft about the handle in this hook. It is hard plastic. The entire hook is also the shortest hook in my collection, very good for little hands. It is very lightweight which I think some people will like.

hook is too short
I do a lot of crochet and my current 3.5mm hook was wearing out on the handle. With a large project to make, I thought I would treat myself. Well, what a disappointment- yes the hook is easy to use, and works well with the thread, but it isn't even as long as my hand. The end was digging in to the palm of my hand and causing a blister. I did try to like it, but have given up. I have never had a problem like this with any of my other 20 or so hooks!

Good quality
This crochet hook is not for me. I have rheumatoid arthritis and was looking for a hook which was comfortable to use but the end of the handle sticks into the palm of my hand leaving it sore. The handle is not long enough and flattens out at the end into hard plastic and because of my condition I obviously hold a hook differently to other people. Itβs certainly good quality and very smooth to use, no snagging. I will continue my search for something more comfortable. It has very good reviews from other people which is why I bought it but obviously we all have different needs.

Easy to hold and use but not at all comfortable in my hand.
I have a set of ergonomic long crochet hooks bought off Amazon which are fabulous to use for extended periods but unfortunately there was not a 5mm hook. Based on good reviews I bought this Clover soft touch. The hook action is very smooth to use but sadly I found that after only 30 minutes, the other end was wearing a sore place on the left side of my palm. Having examined my grip I seem to hold my hook like a knife rather than pen which may assist others considering whether to buy a Clover hook.Anyway It looks like I shall have to seek out another hook as this one definitely doesn't suit me.On the plus side, it does seem to be well made.

Fells nice and comfy, smooth to use, glides through stitches easily.
Great to crochet with. Glide smoothly into stitches, dream to work with.My most most favourite hook, and I have so many. I tried may different brands and types before discovering these beauties, I have bought more since.I shall be buying quite a few more 4.00mm, because as any crocheter knows, you can never have too many 4.00mm crochet hooks ( π π€ π ππ» ) well I guess it depends on how many WIP you tend to have.....but a few spares are always good. Something I thought was a quirk of mine, until I met other "crocheters" at a local yarn shop 'Yarn Shop Day' quite by accident recently, and they all said they all have around half a dozen, or.....more!!! So I am not the only one (phew, feel quite sane now ;-)) !)

Excellent for arthritic hands
This item was bought for me by my daughter at Christmas as a solution to my love of amateur crochet scuppered by arthritic aching hands. I can crochet easily with this, the wider grup compared to thin bamboo one I had before is more comfortable and the soft grip pad stops hand from slipping. Lightweight. Smother surface, glides easily without snagging. Delighted until I lost it!! This is a reorder of same item as I wouldn't want to go back to my old type of hook now. Highly recommend
