Kuryakyn6285 Motorcycle Handlebar Accessory: Mechanical Throttle Cruise Assist, Universal For for 1" or 7/8" Handlebars with Hollow Bar Ends, Chrome

Put this on my Can-Am Spyder GS SM5. Throttlemeister said they had no luck fitting a Can-Am. Tho Kuryakyn was quite a bit cheaper too. This unit works perfectly as it should. Tighten until it holds the throttle, back off until throttle moves freely. Now it takes less than 1/4 turn to lock the throttle in place using your pinky. It is easily moved without loosening by twisting for small adjustments. Don't forget to get the matching Bar End Weight for the other side. Product seems to work ok, will test tomorrow. Installation was easy, other than mine didn't come with the cardboard spacer card to set the proper distance for spacing. I had to guess at it and test a few times. I think I have it where it needs to be now. Quality is good amd definitely holds the throttle tight if you tighten it all the way til it ratchets.

This thing looks nice and installed easily with my Kuryakyn ISO grips. The problem is, they only way it stays on is the same way the it locks the throttle, so when the throttle isn't locked, be careful that it doesn't just shake right out of your bars. I basically just threw 50 some odd dollars in the wind on my first ride after installing the throttle lock. - Which I did correctly and as per the instructions.

I used this product on my 2011 Honda Interstate. Know that if you buy this item it requires permanent modifications to your stock grips and you won't be able to revert back to stock after install. The installation requires you to unscrew the end cap to your grips. Then you will have to saw/cut the threading off. Next you will either have to remove the grip to take the weight out of the handle bar or you can cut the end of the grip off like I did to pull the weight out. If you chose to remove the grip you can drill a larger hole which may give it a slightly cleaner look. The product works okay but just doesn't match the bike the way I would like (I think its slightly too small).Additionally I bought the other side to match. When I took the end cap off the other side I realized the rubber does not go to the end of the bar, so if I were to install it, there would be about an 1/8 of an inch gap in-between the new end cap and were the rubber grip ends. I opted to leave the opposite side stock. All said and done I think a brake away throttle assist may have been the better option for my bike.

Well built product. Kinda pricey for what it is

I like this throttle assist. It is very well made and is a great for long trips on the highway. It installed very easy on my 2011 Kingpin. The factory bar ends popped off and the throttle assist and matching bar weight look like the stock set up on this bike. It's not the easiest to engage but I can deal with that because of how great it looks compared to other throttle assists, nothing clamped on th bar.

Although I did not get to install the throttle assist, I have used one very similar in design on my BMW and absolutely loved it. The Vulcan 900c that I purchased the throttle assist for, has 6inches of solid steel welded in the handle bar ends. Very disappointed that I had to return both the matching bar end weight and the mechanical throttle cruise assist, I was so looking forward to using them. This is an excellent product and design.

Works just as it should, very easy install and matches well since I already had the matching grips and weights.Minus one star for poor quality control, it had a large burr preventing it from sliding into the handlebar but a quick file job took care of it.
