I hang it on my backpack strap or in the tent. **Q: If this were a real brrr-ometer, wouldn't it's range be something like -40f to 40f? who skis when it's 120f outside?** A: In more civilized Hawaii and California, we ski and wakeboard when temps are 100 degrees F. One must leave the 20 degrees safety margin on the thermometer. That means it'll tell you the temperature in the environment it's placed in. Here's a for instance, say you got the thing in the fridge and you left it in there for a few minutes. When you crack the door and look inside this little thing will say to you, in thermometer speak, "It's a might bit chilly in here son!" By the adverse, say you left it out back in the full sun on a brick then it'll say "It's a warm on this brick now" Understand going in that this is a very small temperature teller. It's not quite tiny, no, but it is very small. It's on an aluminium backer so it's not tiny. That would be different. Keep that in mind if you're thinking of hanging it from your swim trunks. Here, I'll provide a snap shot of the Brrr-ometer for your viewing pleasure and so you can make a size comparison.
