I normally use a rice cooker that have its own measuring cup and level gauge water that matches number of rice cups. I set it on brown rice setting. To cook rice pudding, I will would use1 rice to 2 water ratio. The key is after bringing it to boiling point, add all required ingredients per your recipe, then set heat on simmer and cover pot with lid till rice is cooked.
