My room doesn’t have any lights, is this enough to light up my whole room?

Yes, my room is 10 x 12. It is just enough light. It won’t be like a overhead light, but is instead a warm light that can be adjusted. It can go very bright to very low.

Would the highest setting work as a reading light in a office’s room?

It is perfect for a side table in my office room, I have more light when I read. I recommend lowest setting as night light in children room, middle light enough for living room, and highest light for desk in office’s room.

Do you have to cycle through all the brigntness settings to turn the lamp off?

It has three settings once you turn it on. A dim setting, a brighter setting and a super dim (you can see the outline of the lamp) setting. You would have to tap it four times to turn it off.
