WHY? Paperback – November 23, 2010

Best book for those who are suffering and questioning their faith. I have given this book to many people dealing with horrible circumstances. It is my go to book for anyone who is questioning God’s wisdom in their life. It helped me out when I was struggling. Very loving and faith strengthening. I can’t say enough about this book. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

This book is written from a very readable perspective. Anne Graham Lotz does not pretend to be a theologian or scholar of ancient manuscripts. Instead, she focuses on some of the most common "Why does God..." or "Why doesn't God..." questions that are asked today, and then responds to them in a conversational format, rather than an academic one. At times, her writing is almost poetic. It reads more like a mother comforting a suffering child. Each chapter addresses another "Why..." question. None of the chapters are very long, and can be read in just a few minutes -- almost like a slightly long devotional.I don't believe the purpose of the book was to clearly answer every "Why..." question (because many do not HAVE finite answers), but rather to present another perspective on each, and provide enough thoughtful insight for the reader to continue on their own. In the end, the common thread through each question can be found in the subtitle of the book: "Trusting God When You Don't Understand".

Purchased this book right before a family crisis erupted. Medical emergency- a real life Lazarus story!! This book walked me through a 21 day stay in the ICU with my mom. It kept me encouraged and helped me to keep my eyes on Jesus. It helped me step out of the crisis and move to total surrender. I highly recommend this book no matter where you are in life.

I've been asking many "Why's?"myself lately and this book helped me recognize that my faith in my head, as Ann points out, was not trust in my heart. I'm looking forward to Ann's new book out in October 2019!

This book is so amazing. It is practical and enlightening. It is easy to read and encouraging. It is to the point and deliberate. It does not sugar coat but is honest and yet is not aggressive. I would recommend this to new Christians to have a good foundation...this topic seems to be prevalent issue in older and younger christians alike.

Thought provoking. I got alot out of these pages. As I am trying to get through grief with loss of my don. Things don't always make sense. But if we take off the grave clothes we may see Gods great plan for us.

Amazing read! So timely and needful in my life

I took this book to my friend to comfort her through her physical suffering. I didn't realise then that it would be the last book she read as she died suddenly that week. Her mourners were told at her funeral and many will be comforted now by reading it.

Excellent book which I much enjoyed reading. It only cost me 1p! It was well worth the postage from the US. It also arrived very promptly

i did not enjoy this book as much as Just give me Jesus or Wounded by Gods people but was blessed
