Windows 10 for Seniors in easy steps: Covers the April 2018 Update 3rd Edition

Had been working with an old computer on Windows 8. Well the Computer crashed on me and I went to the Computer repair shop, they said they do not service Window 8 any more, so I had to buy a new computer. I am in my 70's and did not know anything about Windows 10. I tried YouTube Tutoral and that confused me, so I was instructed to turn to Amazon for books on how to get around in Windows 10. I am testing a lot in the book and understand more than what I knew. Thanks so much for the book.

I thought I had ordered a disc to insert into my laptop, which would then INSTALL Windows 10 for me. Silly me! This is a book for seniors on how to USE Windows 10 ~ 1:2” thick or so book and I am not interested in reading all that. I just wanted to install Windows 10 but again it was my mistake not theirs, I guess.

It was ok lots of information some hard to follow

Seniors are looking for simple and precise

The information in the book doesn't match Windows 10 Home in many cases so it is difficult to follow. I didn't find it useful at all and thru it away.

Helpful in some aspects but lacking in others.

Full of information easy to understand. So handy to check for info.

It did not explain data in simple and concise terminology and it did not cover some basics (i.e. how to set up bookmarks). I found some of the data to be confusing and incomplete and the book expected a person to have more knowledge than I have. Should have saved my money and gone to my local library which I have now done.

I thought it is very good but some itums could be further explained, but there againthe fault may be on my part, thank you.

Not having been taught in computer literacy during my school days and having fumbled along for a few years on a old laptop I eventually decided to purchase a new L/Top but became utterly bewildered by the terminology and lack of clear explanation as to why one should do this or that and not knowing if this app or another would jeopardise ones security ,all of which appeared to fight against one or another for control. My conclusion[ wrongly ] was that some of the younger generation must just blindly accept without clear explanation anything that looked trendy but then again they have the advantage of having been taught computer literacy . I am of a generation that required to understand a STATEMENT to avoid problem and analyse for solutions/ likely answers. I only seek simple short plain English answers as to why or not to do this or that. Even more annoying is this trend to shorten words [abbreviation] leaving one to guess meanings . Well as can be derived from my above dissertation I was in need of assistance and This Book has enlightened me to a great extent, albeit, I have not completely mastered the subject but hopefully by the time I have read thro it fully I will be a smarter silver surfer.

It has helped me to setup my desktop , get started with Windows 10 and I am pleased with the Book, but some parts where a bit hard to understand and the photos were small to see what was written
