a great album
I wouldn't say the last Pokey album was a poor one because I dont think hes capable of making a bad record, but this record is a stronger collection of songs than Manic revelations. The record was recorded in January 2019 last year so its taken a while for the record to see the light of the day. It is a departure from the records he made with the south city three but the songs are awfully catchy.Robbed of the chance to see Pokey live this time round (shows are rescheduled for next year) Pokey has been performing stripped down acoustic jams of these songs online and they are a treat. Some of these songs sound even better in a primitive form.

50's golden stuff
I loved the album Middle of Everywhere, listen to it far too often. Its that wonderful 30's feeling sound that you never knew you loved. This is different, its 50's styled, smooth, fun and very addictive. Like a bit of Pokey? this will not disappoint.BUY ITIt appears that my version has two side A labels......a future collectors item maybe?

Meh
Like a lot of his stuff but this album disappoints.Do NOT buy this album on the strength of 'f..k me up' - it is very much not representative of the album. I struggle to comment much on the other tracks as it's hard to concentrate on them: bland, unimposing background music. The humour and vintage western swing thing is gone.Sorry Mr Pokey - not your best.
