Kuniyoshi

This is a very very nice book. I own several nice tattoo & art books including oversize "coffee table" size books filled with large pictures. The quality of the art in this book is top notch and there is a nice amount of text describing the art & artist. The size is larger than most oversize books and has a very nice feel to it. The binding of the book itself is very nice. It uses a Japanese technique called pocket binding and makes for something that feels like it belongs in a museum collection.The only negative is that some of the art is marred by being spread across the books binding. This is common for books like this and it is always ashame. A lot of the art is just on one page so does not suffer from this. Overall this is a small quibble and is not a reason to pass on this book.I think at the full MSRP it is good value vs other similar books.If you like Kuniyoshi or this style of art this is great addition to or beginning of a collection.

First, this book is huge, I knew this going in but until it arrived I really didn’t have a good understanding of how BIG this book is! It’s also heavy. It does NOT fit on any shelf we currently own. It came in a lovely box that we are keeping it in for now to prevent damage until we find it a permanent home in the house.I bought it as a reference book for art.

I hesitated ... then caved in. SO glad I did!! This book is extraordinary! Large format bound in a Japanese style with the most amazing paper I've seen. The vibrant reproductions in large format are beautiful, and leafing through this luxurious volume is a true pleasure. I hesitated ... don't you! You'll love it!

Oh man this book rulez! It is one huge volume of Manga examples to use for tattoo reference. Buy it now.

If you enjoy Japanese painting and print, and its history, then this is one to buy. Beautifully printed and bound, with great research surrounding what you enjoy visually while going through the book.

Good quality and excellent print. If you are into ukiyo-e this book is a must have.
