Very interesting book about 4 British cultures which seeded white civilization in the original 13 colonies, and how vestiges of those cultures still intermingle, with many more cultures, to form today's US culture.

Exceptional book. Incredible history. It put so many pieces together for me. It is American history made clear, where attitudes, folk ways, language, culture come from in each distinct area of the country.

If you are into early New England ancestry and life ways in the 1600s get this.It has been slow reading and after two years I have not yet finished it.
