Jutaku: Japanese Houses Hardcover – Illustrated, October 12, 2015

An angel must have made this book. I love it and use it as a reference often in my own architectural work here in the US. Seriously, it took a lot of work and heart to find and compile these houses. The houses are paired in interesting ways which I enjoyed as well. The only better thing would have been floor plans.

Am working on designing a smaller house this year and was looking for some inspiration for fenestration, cladding, and roofing. This book did the trick. Appreciated that most of the houses were sized to fit on a city lot. Haven't seen many of the homes featured in this book.

Love this book! Super cool contemporary Japanese houses. Great pictures. You'll want too live in every one, or at lease visit them.

lots and lots of houses, nicely arranged geographically, but would have preferred fewer houses with some interior shots.

I thought there would be more information on each house, but it's only one picture for each house.I do like how they are all organized per locations and site / building ratio is given.

One more for my collection on Japanese design(s). Highly recommended, great illustrations, nice for inspiration!

Purchased as a gift for my granddaughter, as she is studying Japanese Architecture. She loves it.
