I ordered the green and when I ordered it I was concerned that I was not going to be able to create the exact combinations of words and numbers that I needed because it was a replacement of another lock, but lockily (wink) this item comes with several interchangeable green dials with combinations of words and numbers and you set the lock by picking out exactly what combination of letters and numbers that you would like to have as the passcode and then you follow the instructions to set the lock! It worked as expected and it's very easy to operate and it's also quite easy to change the combination if you want it to be something different but you want to be able to use the same lock. That's kind of the beauty of this particular choice. It's not like you're going to lose the key, you know what I mean? As long as you have the code you can get into it and if for whatever reason you need to change access to something that you want to keep the same lock, all you have to do is very easily change the code. First, the numbers (or letters) must be lined up exactly (and I mean exactly) or the lock would not open (or lock). I had this lock for 2 months and I had one frustrating experience after another. Today I took the lock to the gym to lock up my valuables and clothes in my locker. But the lock would not open - something must have seized inside. I dropped it on the tile floor, and, to my great surprise, the lock completely disintegrated !!- numbers and loops and rings and other pieces of metal flew all over the floor. Imagine if you used this lock to lock up something really valuable and someone came by with a hammer and gave it a small knock- and the lock would completely fall apart.
