It looks like two times is about the consensus :) Just remember to listen to your body, some people are more sensitive to the cleansing action of the tea, so if you need to spread 1 tea bag over more times that's ok while you work up to the standard dose.

Can I brew the day before and save in the fridge for next day or for a few days in advance? Will it not work the same?

Yes, you can but the aroma won't be as strong as when you just brew the tea. Just make sure you use a container with a tight lid to reduce the lost in. aroma. And remember that the longer you leave the tea bag in, the stronger the taste and the more bitter it'll be.
