Long lasting ice pack
This is a wonderful product! I recently had hip surgery and only had one at home. It’s great having an ice pack that lasts more than an hour. So I ordered two more.

Love these
I have been buying these ice packs for years and I use two a night in intervals. It helps to keep me cool, which helps me ward off migraines. I sleep on one wrapped in a towel and stick it on top of my pillow. When it has melted to room temperature, it usually wakes me up and I go out and switch it with the backup in the freezer. The size is perfect for neck and head, quality is pretty good and the design is well thought up. It even comes with its own cover so you don’t need a towel for the most part. I just use one for extra cushion and so it doesn’t freeze my skull and brains, lol. If you don’t put them away flat and with care, the outside gel water will leak and then you can still use it as the balls stay intact and frozen but they will then only last about 90 minutes. I recommend these ice packs to anyone who suffers with migraines or vertigo.

The best ice pack...
I have chronic pain due to MS and ice packs are a daily thing in my home. I have three other brands of ice packs and none of them come even close to this one. I needed an ice pack that lasted longer than 45 minutes on my back. After trying several brands with little success I came across this one. It is by far the best one I have bought so far.Pros:- Long lasting: If I put it on my back before I go to bed around 9pm, it will usually last until 2am or 3am which is unheard of for an ice pack. The length of time an ice pack keeps cool is largely dependent on where you put it on your body. For example, putting the ice pack on my back against a couch or bed prevents my body heat from escaping, so the ice pack is going to warm much fast than when you have it draped over your knee, etc.- Variety of sizes: I always struggle with smaller ice packs because my chronic pain is in a large part of my upper back. So fighting to keep the ice pack where I want it is a constant battle. With other ice packs, once I get the ice pack in the right spot - which can take a lot of scooting around, getting up and readjusting the ice pack, moving around some more, etc. This one is large enough so that it is very easy to cover the areas that I have pain in.- Ice Pack Cover: This ice pack comes with a fabric sleeve that the ice pack can go in to and an adjustable velcro strap to put the pack where you want it and keep it there.Cons:- Freezing time: This is the one drawback to this ice pack. I have the largest ice pack and it usually takes 12 to 14 hours to freeze completely. One key thing for this ice pack is making sure nothing is stacked on top of it in the freezer and that there is room around it for air to circulate. I have a standard freezer/fridge, so there's not much room in my freezer, therefore it takes much longer to freeze.

BEST for many-hours use, chronic pain. It's on Subscribe & Save for a reason
These ice packs are AMAZING (will explain the Subscribe & Save caveat). I have chronic pain so I have 2 sets of the ice packs I need that are in a constant rotation. Why you need it:* Once fully frozen, it really does last up to 8 hours. I easily get 6 and usually the full 8. I'm sure the conditions and amount of insulation being used affect this.* You won't find any other kind that stays colder or for longer- I have tried them all, trust me.* The covers they come with are excellent insulators (which you will NEED). The straps are also super helpful for various situations since the strong velcro can stick to any part of the cover. Wrap around any size limb, or use to wrap around/ attach to stuff (I use them to hang the ice pack against the back of my wheelchair for back pain).* Even if only partially frozen, can get a lot of use out of them* The bumps are not uncomfortable* There are some easy work-arounds to some of the problemsTricky things to know/ keep in mind:* They take a long time to get fully frozen, and freeze best with air space in the freezer. I've found it takes 3-4 hours to get completely frozen. The blue bubbles will freeze hard first, then the pink liquid "matrix" will freeze last, and that's where the magic is, you need that pink stuff for it to last longest.* It's not that moldable when fully frozen, but if you use it when the pink isn't completely frozen yet, then it will bend more, along the gaps between blue bubbles.* There's a reason they're offered on "Subscribe & Save"! The pink stuff will eventually leak out (and get stuff wet), and with continued use some of the blue dots will also pop and leak out. Without the pink matrix, you can still use it with just the dots, but it's not nearly as long-lasting (freezes faster though). So with constant daily use like me, you'll need to replace them after about 4-6 months. (I don't recommend actually getting on S&S, just replace as needed.)Work-around: Always keep these in a 2-gallon ziplock bag! Doing this has extended the life greatly, and prevents the liquid getting on things when they do leak. (You might need to replace the bags once in a while but that's better than losing the liquid.) I also duct-taped around the edges of a couple of my ice packs, but it's unclear if this has made much difference, I can't tell where exactly the liquid gets out. The bags are most important.Pics-1) a fully frozen one I've been using for about 6 months, in a ziploc bag. One or 2 blue dots have popped but nothing leaking, so it's fully functional2) A thawed and "dying" ice pack- several blue bubbles have popped, the pink has begun to leak out (my bag is worn out too), I will have to replace this one soon to get 8-hours of function per use3) This is a frozen but completely leaked out one, the pink is gone (I didn't have this in a bag!), I can still use it for some things with just the frozen bubbles, and it is flexible but will thaw a lot more quickly. (Side note- the 6x12 don't last as long as the 12x12.)The bottom line/ TL,DR: these are definitely worth it despite the leaking requiring you to replace them periodically. They're the best and only solution for nearly all-day use for chronic pain and/or taking on a day out.
