I needed to ask my doctor for a prescription strength in the end, which cleared up my penal skin inflammation, where this product wasn't strong enough. It perhaps even softened my skin further, which is nice on one level but only weakens the skin from healing - this is just a guess, an impression I got. It wasn't worth putting off going to the doctor, which was only occasioned for another reason. I have never had a problem before until I erroneously read that one should not wash under one's foreskin with soap (because it might dry skin). My problem flared up when I followed this bad advice. My foreskin got inflamed, was hard to pull back, got very tight, was painful with stinging and burning sensation - I almost thought that I would need an adult circumcision. After the prescription-strength cream healed my condition, I went back to my regular antibacterial Dial soap (with any soap, just rinse well), which I've used since childhood. I never had a problem in the past, and now I'm free from this malady and back to my stable hygiene routine.
