**Q: How far away from the base will it work?**
A: Mine happens to be just on the other side of the wall from the router (about 10 feet as the crow flies) so I'm not really certain how far away it would work? My others that look just the same (but got them from Xfinity directly) work quite a ways away (like 40 feet.)

**Q: Do you have to have an xfinity security system, or can the sensor be added on to an xfinity router?**
A: Great question, for these sensors you would need Xfinity Home service. Some ZigBee devices will connect to compatible Xfinity gateways, but you’ll have to check the Xfinity app for compatibility. These sensors in particular I can say for certain will not unfortunately.

**Q: When you call Xfinity and pair an additional sensor, do they charge more monthly?**
A: No additional charges

**Q: Can you add your own custom sound to it?**
A: On your control pad you can customize the sound from the optional sounds
