Nice to not have to deal with paper money
I bought this for my son's 7th birthday, and we had a blast playing it. He had played Monopoly Jr. before, but never "real" Monopoly, and he loved it. I like that it sort of gives kids the whole concept of a debit card. My husband was banker, and although it seemed cumbersome to have the credit tracking system, he said he much preferred it over paper money. The only thing I didn't like was that without paper money, you have to keep asking the banker what your balance is because you can't get an idea of what your worth is without the paper money in front of you. It is kind of interesting to play with such high value properties, too, after playing the classic game for so many years. We liked the cool, modern playing pieces. Fun was had by all! :)

Fun game but I miss the original places
It's nice to do away with all the paper money. It takes away the money counting skills younger kids should learn but makes the game much more enjoyable for older kids. (I'm 24 and my sister is 25 and we both still play board/video games.) Instead of spending a few hundred dollars to buy a property then rent for like 60 dollars everything has been changed to thousands and millions. Like 600K ($600,000) or 1.2M ($1,200,000). The places are from the "Here and Now Edition" not the original so you won't see Park Place or Boardwalk anymore... they have been replaced with Fenway Park and Times Square. Also, whoever decided to put the Liberty Bell and The White House on this game needs to be fired. Out national treasures are not and never will be put up for auction to the highest bidder like this game suggests. I realise it's just a game but it still bothers me. I would prefer the electronic banking edition also came in the original places like Marvin Gardens or Boardwalk. Then again, I was raised playing the original version. Okay, back to the actual review. There are too few houses and hotels and I don't care for the tokens. Who would honestly pick the Altoids tin? Why is that even a "Here and Now" thing? Should of been a Laptop computer or some new Sports car. The electronic banking machine (Looks much like a regular calculator) is very simple to use so younger kids shouldn't have a problem with it after being shown how to do it.

great new way of playing
It's good to see this old classic brought to modern times. I used to love playing this game when i was younger but as we live in today fast paced world it seem to take too long to play a game. I guess years ago we had more time. Anyway with the new credit / debit card the game move much more quickly. you would not think the money would take so much time but it's made simple to transfer amounts between player which i think makes up alot of the time. No more stopping to make change or go the banker for different domoninations. And with a press of a button you know exactly how much total money you have as well as the other players.

Great gift for any monopoly fan
I bought this product as Christmas gift for my dad. He is a big monopoly fan. He already has a monopoly game but the old version. He takes his monopoly game on every trip that we do, so I guessed this was a fun way to change the way we play. He loves the new version of monopoly, he was very pleased, and I recommend this product for any monopoly fan. Some say that with the electronic way the game is much slower but when we play we are never in a rush, we always play for average 5 hours, an no one likes to be the bank.

Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition
This game is very fun and a bit easier since you don't have to count money any more. The cards of Chance were not made well and were cut off so only part of the card was there. I called Hasbro and they happily replaced these cards for me at no charge. Hasbro customer service was fantastic and very easy to work with and highly professional, I guess that is why we have about 10 Hasbro games so far.

Banking is a Drudge
Just played this game last night with the in-laws. They're great -- the game isn't. Every player gets a "debit" card to use instead of the paper money used in the original game. It sounds like a great idea. But reality quickly gets in the way. The modified banking system not only slows down game play, but it leads to less player interaction. In addition, unless individual plays keep mental note of how much is left on their card, they must go back to the banker to see how much the card has left. Overall, the electronic banking was a detraction rather than an enhancement. Monopoly Electronic Banking Edition

We enjoyed more than 4 hours of play with the credit card version. We have paper money versions but never manage more than 1.5 hours. No papers to loose, fold (for those of us with OCD). I would be staring at others folding and lose concentration and eventually the game due to this. Card all the way. Must buy

I gave this game to my 24 year old son-in-law. Who loves the game. With the electronic element and different board pcs. It kept the "grown" children occupied for over 3 hours. A hit for sure!

There was corrosion in the machine on the springs where you would insert the batteries. The machine Was almost garbage, which would have made the whole game inoperable.. (Pictures are after I cleaned it)
