Blanket is thin, but nice. Heats up quick, no smell. Actually gets too hot on the highest setting, be careful. The wire is kinda flimsy and thin so make sure the blanket doesn’t melt it. I like how the wires are super long, and the timer.

I purchased the Sunbeam Royal Luxe Mushroom Heated Blanket in King size, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! This blanket is nothing short of a dream come true for chilly nights. I love this blanket! I have had it for one cold season now. Unlike many other electric blanket brands, the fabric is not unmanageably thick but still feels silky soft. For me this is super important because it keeps me from feeling too weighed down while still being toasty warm. It's also just a touch less slippery than minky, which seems to keep the internal heating wires from scrunching up and making the blanket permanently wrinkled. I have not tried to wash it since in the past I have washed other "washable" electric blankets and destroyed them, but I am still very happy with the product and usually just put it on top of my other blankets to keep it clean. Will definitely buy one again!

Good things are that it is nice and velvety. It heats up very quickly and gets very very warm, I usually have to turn it down or off very quickly.The bad things are there are large sections where there are no heating wires and therefore stays ice cold. The hems are not professional looking, there is no binding, they are kind of raggedy. The previous blankets I’ve had had the label where the plug is, it seems to give some more support to the plug, this one does not. It’s just sort of hanging in the blanket fabric. It seems as though at some point it’s just going to. rip out. The light on the controllers are very bright, and when they time out the light does not go off, you have to actually push the button to turn the controller off. If it has timed out, you have to push it twice to turn it off .The controllers are very difficult to adjust when you are barely awake, all of the buttons feel the same when you’re sleepy, and not looking at the controller. This is the third or fourth sunbeam electric blanket that have bought, they typically last 2 to 3 years. All of the controllers have been different, this one is the worst, and this blanket is also the softest most velvety, my favorite of all the fabrics I’ve had. I think it is probably a good deal for the money. I just would’ve liked to have known about some of the things before I bought it.

Amazon delivered the product quickly -- as expected and appreciated. However the blanket only lasted 2 months before it quit working. That 2 months passed the time for returns to Amazon, so I had to deal with Sunbeam. The blanket has a 5-year warranty, so repairs and replacements are covered. HOWEVER, Sunbeam's customer service is HORRIBLE! I first tried calling them. The phone system required me to talk to an automated system through several questions. In the middle of the questions, their phone system hung up on me. This happened several times. Then I called back and said "REPRESENTATIVE" to the automated service, and it sent me to talk with someone. HOWEVER, what I got was NOT a representative but a recording telling me that they were very busy and couldn't take my call, "please call back later." I thought this might be a fluke, so I tried the same thing again and got the same message EVERY TIME. Then I tried live chat. The first agent I got asked me to go to the blanket and get a series of numbers and symbols to give him. I told him it would take a few minutes, he said OK. When I returned to the chat, he had ended the chat! So I reconnected to Chat and got a different agent. I had to fill out all the info again, etc. He said "How can I help you?" and then never returned to the chat!!! I tried again and got an agent that remained on the chat -- thank you! -- but then informed me that I had to pay for shipping my blanket to them and then wait 3-4 weeks to get a replacement. Presumably I will get a new blanket, but I have spent over 2 hours of my time, will pay for shipping, and then won't get the blanket till the weather is too warm for using it. Not to mention the fact that I don't even know if the new one will work properly. I will NEVER buy another Sunbeam product.

I loved the cord. Nice and long with the plugin part connected to one of the controllers to use a cord by the bed. One controller drapes off the other with enough cord length to run behind the bed. Best cording system on any electric blanket I’ve ever had and I’ve purchased many over the years.I also like that I can set the auto turnoff to 12 hours. This works great for watching TV prior to going to sleep. Most turn off at 8 hours; thus if I forget to reset it prior to falling asleep, it doesn’t turn off during the night. Love that!It didn’t warm up much at first, but after turning on and off four or five times, it warms up perfectly. I guess it needed some burn-in time.Material is extremely thin, Same thing material on top and bottom unlike most that have warmer material on the bottom. That doesn’t matter much to me other than it is very light weight and doesn’t give the heavy blanket feeling I prefer, but I can throw a heavier blanket on top of it to get a more weighted feeling.Overall, I’m glad I purchased the blanket and love having a cord as it actually should be. Happy with this blanket.
