University Games - 5 Second Rule Mini Game

Fun game, but this version is made in the UK so there are many questions pertaining to England that are difficult to answer if you are not familiar with the country.

What is probably a very good game in its full-size version has not been transferred well into this mini-version. There are 4 major problems with it.The first and most significant is the spiral '5 second' timer, which in this scaled-down version does not allow the '5 seconds' that is central to the game, but rather 3-4 seconds (because the ball bearings have less distance to travel in a smaller tower). 3-4 seconds to name three answers in a category is far too short. A major flaw in this game.The second problem is that the mini-version does not include a playing board or counters but the rules provided with the game still refer to them. There are no instructions for how the winner of the mini-game is to be decided; of course you can make up the rules yourself but that's not really the point.The third and fourth problems are that cards are included that have 'Pass on' and 'Switch' written on them but nowhere in the rules does it say what these cards are for. Overall, may be worth trying the full-size version of this game but avoid this mini-version which has been very poorly thought through.

I bought these as Christmas presents and thank goodness I opened one as the rules inside just didn't make sense. There are no counters or playing pieces to work with and no board enclosed as it says in the rule enclosed - and no mention in the rues as to what to do the pass on or switch cards. I then realized the enclosed rules where for '5 Second Rule |\junior' Although the box is for 8-adult. Looking at others feedback I noticed they downloaded the correct rules for the adult version = now it's all making sense. No need for a board as it's done by points. Just be aware and download rules for 5 Second Rule, otherwise I am quite looking forward to playing it although I think I'll give my friends two turns on the timer as i goes very quickly

Whilst I bought this game for a 10 year old girl, it turned out to be the hit of the evening with older teenagers. There was more laughter from this than with ‘Cards against humanity’ . For the price it’s perfect for laughing on a chilly evening. The abstract acting out cards were particularly funny, such as act 3 pieces of glass in 5 seconds - one answer window, mirror, lightbulb = charades with a timer :)

This provides hours of fun for friends and family and can include all ages. My 5 year old sons and 87 year old mum played with a group aged between them. We adapted the rules slightly for our very large group to suit us.

Extremely disappointed with this. Bought it as I had played it with friends at Christmas and really enjoyed it. First game arrived with no game board or pieces and ‘jr’ insructions. I got a new one sent out as the original game arrived missing pieces and the replacement one that arrived today is also faulty with no board, missing pieces and the same JR instructions. If this is how the game should be with none of these things then they should advertise it saying this and also state that it is a game for ‘jrs’. Wouldn’t recommend! Fale advertisement.

Quite funny to play with a few drinks on board as the most random of things come out of your mouth unexpectedly under pressure. It’s a good family game, but quickly got boring when sober..

Used for long haul flight with kids and we all enjoyed playingPackaging bulky if it could be smaller would be great for hand luggage however was well used

I guess the full version is better. The idea is good and fun but the instructions are clearly for the original game but thrown into this box as it makes references to non existent items like a board.

The timer takes 3.5 seconds to spiral downward. It is impossible to play the game at all. I also thought that some answers would be provided. Very disappointed 😞

Absolutely love this game!! Practiced a few rounds with the kids as it's actually for Xmas day!! And it's great fun and easy to play for all ages!!

Arrived with a timer and two packs of cards; nothing else. The instructions talk of a board and pieces so I am guessing it arrived incomplete !!!

Excellent game however junior no game board and unclear how to score and win shame, we had great fun playing this

Brilliant fun for the family and great game for Boxing Day with a few drinks was a absolute laugh.

Game came with the wrong instructions, but once the company acknowledged their mistake and I found the correct instructions online I enjoyed playing it with grandsons, 7 and 9 years old.

Great game for playing with all the family, no big deal, no crying because you're rubbish at it just fun for the little ones and the older ones too!
