The Salem Witch Hunt: A Captivating Guide to the Hunt and Trials of People Accused of Witchcraft in Colonial Massachusetts (U.S. History)

Although there are other books that go into far more detail about the Salem Witch Trials, this little book is an excellent starting point, or a refresher for someone already familiar with the Salem Witch Trails. It is a fairly quick read, but remarkably informative. I highly recommend this book to anyone planning to visit Salem as it provides a good overview of the history. I'm a Salem descendant and have read quite a few books on the witch trials. Some are very academic and dry as dust, but this was an interesting read. I enjoyed this book so thoroughly I plan on looking into more tittles published by "Captivating Guide".

The book wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I was hoping for more info on the last that were put to death and besides a sentence or two there wasn't anything about them. My 10th great g-ma was Mary Parker, one of the last killed. I bought this book specifically because it was to have info on those that parished in the trials. The book has a lot of info about the more famous people that past, Tituba, Rebecca Nurse, the Parish family, but none on the last 5 or so people who died. That's the reason for 4 stars. If you lack general knowledge of the trials this book is for you. If you are looking into the lives of ALL who parished, this book is not for you!

QUICK AND EASY READING... THIS BOOK GIVES YOU A CLEAR PICTURE OF WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE IN SALEM.

This book was an easy and interesting read. Sometimes I got lost in the many different characters but the book did open my eyes to see what a tragic witch hunt this was with many many peoples lives destroyed

Interesting, short and very informative. It is a history that we often hear bits and pieces of but not the full story from the beginnings in England to the end and aftermath in New England. Well worth reading.

Gosto da série e achei esse resumo interessante. Mas comparativamente aos outros da série, achei esse 'livro' muito 'informal'. Uma coisa é trazer os fatos para uma linguagem mais direta e objetiva, outra é ficar brincando e fazendo comparações excessivamente simplificadoras.

A great short read that explains and gives insight into the the fear, superstition and plain evil of some residents who lived and died in Salam

I chose a 5 star rating because I learned things of the trials that I did not know. I could not find anything I did not like. It was very informative. I would recommend this book to any one who is interested in history. It gives the facts and you are able to make up your own mind.
