Classic Captain
Great book spanning some of his best posts. Something for everyone. The Captain is blunt, to the point and isn't afraid to hurt feelings. This is the kind of advice you want.Aside from the funny stories, he includes much of his ideas and thoughts pertaining to dating, the state of men/women in society, dancing, self improvement, economics, government policy... A little bit of everything. Its the goddamn Captain, what more could you want?Great book to chill out and relax with. I'd recommend this more for younger people, especially males who have yet to figure out what degree they want. This is the kind of advice you will not be given by anyone you know, and thus to have this perspective I would consider important. He included all spelling/grammatical errors from the blog posts, as to not start rewriting everything he has ever written. This is a good and bad thing. You monster.

Blunt, informative and entertaining. Classic Clarey.
Since 2004, Aaron Clarey has been blogging at Captain Capitalism, his personal economics website. Aaron has a background in finance and banking, and his skills were highlighted when he accurately predicted the size and scope of both the housing crash and the recession that followed.Clarey is more than just another economics blogger; interspersed with his posts about stock market valuations, job creation and investing are posts dealing with cultural issues, dating and living the bachelor's life. His prose is direct, powerful and parsimonious. He's not the most polished writer, but what he lacks in technical precision he more than makes up for in entertainment value.I've been reading his blog since the beginning and have been greatly enriched by his knowledge and viewpoint. This book is an eclectic collection of the best posts from his blog, everything from some of his dating disasters to investment advice. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Something for everyone
Exellent information and advice for anyone that still has the ability to think for themself. To older folks most of this is logic and common sense but for the younger crowd it could be a eye opener. Highly recommended.

A Snapshot of Clarey's Best Blog Posts
Aaron Clarey has been blogging as Captain Capitalism for a long time. This book offers readers who may be new to his blog, never read it, or well-familiar with his musings, a snapshot of some of his best posts. Clarey is, by profession, an economist, and this plays heavily into this book (as is obvious by the title). But this is not a dry, boring look at economics. Clarey has the gift of writing so those of us in other professions get it. He explains the most complex concepts in ways anyone can understand. This book doesn't just focus on economics, but also offers a look into Clarey's life and views on random topics such as college majors, job interviews, and women. He is eminently relatable, and tells stories in a humorous way, whether he is discussing money, jobs, his dating life, or cigars. I never thought I would say this about ANY writings that have anything to do with the economy, but this is a book I could not put down, and actually found myself laughing at many of his musings. In reading this book, it feels like a somewhat eccentric relative is telling stories and offering advice. I highly recommend this, as well as his other writings. I eagerly anticipate the sequels to this book.
