The Only Knives You’ll Ever Need – Sharp, Elegant, and Effortless!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased the Shun Classic Blonde 6" Utility Knife and 7" Santoku Knife together, and they have completely transformed my kitchen experience. From the first use, I could tell these knives were a serious upgrade. The steel blades are razor-sharp, making slicing, dicing, and chopping feel effortless. I love how smoothly they glide through everything, whether I’m prepping vegetables, slicing meat, or handling more delicate tasks. The 6" utility knife has become my go-to for smaller, precise cuts, while the 7" Santoku is an absolute powerhouse for chopping, mincing, and slicing. The Damascus stainless steel cladding not only adds durability but also gives the knives a beautiful, high-end look that I love having in my kitchen. The blonde Pakkawood handles are comfortable, lightweight, and feel perfectly balanced in my hand, making long cooking sessions so much easier. If you’re someone who loves to cook or simply wants to make meal prep easier and more enjoyable, I can’t recommend these knives enough. They are worth every penny and truly feel like an investment that will last for years. If you’re on the fence, trust me - you won’t regret adding these to your kitchen!

Absolutely exquisite
First impressions out of the box:This is everything you would expect out of a Shun. Immaculate craftsmanship, razor sharp. An absolutely beautiful tool. Handle felt a little small at first, and the center of gravity is slightly behind the bolster. I think this will not matter, as it's light as a feather. Ive held it for a couple of hours now, and my grip feels right at home. The asymmetrical handle feels wonderful. It automatically rotates to the right angle as soon as you grip it, for a right handed person. I cook for a living, and I can't wait to get this in the kitchen tomorrow. This is my 4th Shun product, and I don't regret any of the money I've spent on them. Expensive? Yes. But when you go to work with them, you know where that money went. If you value quality, you can't go wrong with a Shun.

Shun is the best
I have a couple of discontinued blue steel petty knives and wanted a replacement for one of them -- hit on this one. The blonde wood is gorgeous. These knives are lighter than the petty knives, but with the characteristic Shun cut through anything power. I am ruined. I take my knives with me on vacation. Don't be me...

Best utility knife ever
I purchased this recently as it had the promo price and it was a replacement for my existing Shun 6" utility knife which I have broken the tip off of and dinged up the blade after a few years of daily use so this is my second one and 4th Shun.I love this knife, it's light and thin so it works on delicate items like tomatoes easily but it's big enough that you can use it on tougher cuts like potatoes when needed too. It keeps it's edge forever and while I hit it with a steel fairly frequently I finally sharpened my original after about 3 years and that was mainly to try to get rid of a few of the dings I put in.The main things to remember is that this knife is a surgical instrument and isn't designed or intended for heavy work. If you're like my wife and uses a knife like a hammer this isn't the knife for you, get some heavy German blades. However, if you treat this knife properly you'll find this one will end up as you're go to knife for most jobs in the kitchen.

Beatiful & extremely sharp, but the handle is very small...
I'm a fan of Japanese knives. I have knives by Global, Tojiro, Fujiwara and several others. So I've wanted to pick up a Shun for a long time. I decided to pull the trigger when I saw this utility knife at a good price ($70) and it was worth the wait! This is hands down the sharpest knife I have (I just sharpened all my other knives a few days ago), and it's also the most beautiful knife I have. The real damascus steel is quite beautiful and the blonde handle is very nice qaulity. It's edge is like a razor and it easily slides through paper, paper towels, tomatoes, whatever you want to test it on.That said, there are a couple of things you should consider before you order. First, this blade is longer than I expected and very thin. It's listed as a 6 inch utility knife but the blade is closer to 7 inches. That's not a problem, but compared to a 6 inch fujiwara I have, this is less maneuverabile and not as well suited to small jobs. It's also very thin and seems really well suited for slicing, but not for harder things or really for dicing. Second, the handle is pretty small. This is the reason I changed my rating from 5 starts to 4. The size and shape of the handle feels too small for the blade (imagine a razor blade strapped to a pencil), and the more I use it, the more this seems to limit it's functionality. That said, it may just take some getting used to, so I'll update again after a few more weeks of use.Even with that one issue, I'm glad I ordered this and I'm already eyeing more Shun knives with Christmas approaching...

Beautiful and sharp!
I bought this knife for my wife for Christmas. It is a beautiful knife and we use it often but also use it for decoration on our magnetic knife block. It's incredibly sharp very good carbon content and sharpens easily. For people who work in the kitchen often I would definitely recommend this piece.I was fortunate and was able to purchase it at a discount but would definitely recommend this regardless. I will likely be purchasing another for her because she compliments it so often. Definitely recommend.

Really like Shun
Very comfortable and light handle. Very sharp blade that needs little sharpening with a steel.
