Great for creative applications as well as fixing bisque!
This stuff is fantastic. Follow the directions carefully and it will work great to patch together broken bisque.I used it to stick small figurines to the inside of mugs before glazing (like a small whale figurine on the inside of a cup painted like the ocean), and had absolutely no issues with the figurines breaking off. If you're looking to use this for that purpose, it's a great choice.I also used it to re-attach a handle of a mug and no one could tell the difference once I was done and the piece was glazed (the handle was shaped like an octopus tentacle, so it had some texture to begin with).Because it's somewhat gritty, it would pretty much be impossible to put together a broken cup or piece perfectly - although it would work if you REALLY wanted said cup to be put back together, but don't expect it to look just like new again.

Not a good experience!
Do not recomend buying this product from Amazon! I received the first one, hard as a rock. Amazon quickly replaced with another, also hard as a rock. It is a very sensitive product and requires special handling, cannot freeze or be exposed to air or it gets hard and is not useable. Had to return. Amaco is a great company, it's a good product. I recommend you buy from a ceramic dealer who knows how to store and keep this product. I posted on FB Amaco site and received 43 comments the same results from Amazon. Could be storage facility or delivery trucks where it is freezing. Call Amaco and find out where you can buy new batch close to you, should be a creamy paste you can stir. There are lots of youtube videos on how to use and store this product.

Game Changer
This product WORKS! Potters will understand. It fixes cracks, but even better, it fills deep spaces. It can’t fix stress cracks on the bottom because they will always get bigger when high fired. That’s what they do! To the reviewer complaining it didn’t work, try compression when you throw. Then it won’t crack on the bottom. If you use as directed, it’s a dream come true!

VALUABLE LIQUID
If you have a piece, bone dry, bisqued or glazed with a crack, use the liquid to save it. It's important to sand the area of the treated crack & its surrounding area to blend in the clay particles to add strength & to blend the color as much as possible. The liquid dries fairly quickly & it will be white. It can be ued as a kiln friendly adhesive for repair as well. Clean the lid & threaded rim with water before re-sealing & add a tiny layer of water on the surface when storing.

GREAT -- but, not the delivery package!
As others in reviews have noted, Amazon sends this in a manila bubble wrap envelop. If the post office drops it, the hard plastic jar will break and spill all the contents inside & outside the envelop. That's what happened with my first order. They sent a replacement and it was packaged the same; however, this time it wasn't broken. This stuff DOES WORK! I've mended greenware and bisque-fired pottery. It's amazing stuff and others in my pottery club have fixed their broken pieces with it. Best product I've found that actually works! You do need to fire or re-fire prior to glazing, but that hasn't been an issue for me or anyone else who I know who has used this product. Amazon should send this in a small box with some bubble wrap to ensure the container isn't smashed by the post office before it arrives!

It arrived watery and does not allow clay to adhere to anything. I had a defective jar.
I have purchased this previously and it was a paste. The consistency of this jar was water. I does not work to fix any clay together. I have used the product before but this doesn't resemble anything I have ever worked with. Also the jar came taped up with electrical tape. ?? Not sure what that was about. Absolutely a waste of money.

Dries out in the jar super fast, works in specific situations
Bisque Fix is great for low and mid fire clays that break after a bisque fire. Depending on your glaze choice, you can fix your piece (depending on how complicated your break is of course) and glaze seamlessly over it. It is harder to use on cone 10 firing though I think is still one of the more viable products for high fire repair. I'll never forget someone saying to me when I first recommended it in a new class I was taking, "What do they teach you over there?" as I had come in from another program where they used it extensively. Once they tried it and saw how it worked, they now recommend it to everyone who has a need to fix bisque. My only complaint is this stuff is expensive and it dries out quickly once it's opened. Currently, I cut a circle of heavy plastic and place it on the surface of the bisque fix to keep air off the product, screw the top on, place it in a baggie, use a straw to suck all the air out of the baggie, then put the jar in the baggie in a closed, glass container with a lid. Fingers crossed, it will make the product last longer.
