Just damn
The clarity and sheer loudness of this ir flashlight is staggering. Haven't yet tried it with my sionyx pro but I have no doubts it will impress. I shined it at my girlfriend and saw her soul...

Glows bright red, IR illumination is NOT 7000 mW, same as a more expensive 400 mW IR flashlight
The IR LEDs are very much in the near IR end of the IR spectrum and glow red when used. Too brightly red for me to like it. An IR illuminator used exclusively for hunting might be fine with glowing LEDs, but I wanted an item that could be used "tactically" (an overused word) if I so desired. For $130-$150, this does not meet expectations. Also, I tested this Nitecore CI7 with 7000 mW max IR output against a Surefire IR gunlight with 400 mW IR output. The test was on a moonless and cloudy night, so nearly pitch black with no starlight or moonlight. The IR illumination was viewed through a night vision monocular, and on max output for both lights. As far as I and another person could tell, there was no difference between the two in brightness or beam throw.I know Surefire is a very expensive brand and used by the military, but with a marketed output 17.5x higher, I would have expected the Nitecore to be somewhat brighter. Not worth the purchase, and I returned it.

Great Quality and Function
Very bright and durable light. The infrared and white light is as advertised WITH RECOMMENDED BATTERY from Nitecore. With regular cr123 batteries they still preform well with good battery life. It has a wide throw and a decent beam in the center. It has handled hundreds of rounds of recoil. Perfect for home defense or otherwise. You can realistically identify someone at 50 to 80 yards. It is stupid bright but throws the light very wide. Exactly what I needed.
