SteltonEM77 Vacuum Jug, 33.8 oz, white

My wife and I like to joke that the longer you leave your tea in here, the hotter it gets. If I leave it out overnight, the tea may just reach the plasma state. Seriously, we've been incredibly happy with this jug, and hope that it survives long enough to become the design heirloom that others have mentioned.

The design on Stelton jug is pretty timeless but I must say that I quite bought into the hype because other than the design, this is just a VERY basic vacuum jug. It's very slim, yes, but it's also made of plastic and the internal glass liner is extremely fragile - the first one broke in shipping although Amazon promptly replaced it. The picnic cap is also a really cheap piece of plastic that doesn't exactly lock properly. In terms of keeping the beverage hot, it works as well as a regular stainless steel Thermos - I warmed up the jug first before filling it with boiling water for tea. The water stayed hot enough to steep tea for about 8 hours. It definitely doesn't work as well as my old Alfi carafe.

The cap on the top is extremely flimsy and fall offs without much effort. The jug has a small knob on it that you push into a small hole on the cap. However, it is really loose fitting, tilts a lot when used, and can easily release the cap, causing whatever liquid inside to spill everywhere. If you are using this for decoration it would be fine, I was extremely disappointed with this product because it costs so much, yet has a very basic flaw sacrificing functionality.

It looks outstanding in the pictures. Out of the box the white Stelton Jug is not so white, kinda looks like a dated off white.. I have many white plastic products in my kitchen that range from inexpensive utensils to the outer housing of small appliances that achiever a truer white than this. The product's exterior is made of two parts; the white outer casing and the black top do not make a great seal so there are sizable crevices between the two and when you press down on the black top to crevice tighten until you lift your hand away - I don't recommend you do that, but it does reveal that the product is less than exact. It also scratches easily. I use the twist cap, that is bothersome to screw on, because if I use the gimmicky magnetic pour spout the hot beverage loses its heat so so sooo much faster! Heat retention is fair, but you can by a Thermos brand carafe or a Zojirushi carafe that will keep your liquids hot ALL day long and you will spend only half as much. It is made in Denmark out of decent materials so it does achieve a level of respectable quality, but no value it terms of what it can do for hot liquids. The box it comes in looks good... thats all.

The only way this vacuum jug could keep your liquid very very hot over an 8 hour period of time is for you to use the thermos attachment, rather than the pour spout. Pour spout can give you about 3 to 4 hour of relatively hot coffee. I still think it' has a well designed pour sputt and the looks of it is stunning in my kitchen. I'm certain I will enjoy it for years to come.

I had a Stelton thermos for 30 years, bought in Demnark. When I needed a recent replacement I was disappointed to see the body of the thermos crack. I exchanged for a new one and now the second casing and lid have cracked.

Bought this for a Danish friend who loved it and said no Danish home is complete without one! Great gift!

探していたのは、保温だけできるポットでした。見た目・容量ともに大変気に入っています。完全に逆さにしない限りは蓋も外れませんし。今のところ、落としたり倒したりはしていないので漏れたり割れたりもしていません。末永く愛用したいので、壊さないように気をつけつつ使おうと思います。
