This amazing piece of gear (or kit
Need a stereo to mono 1/4" (6.35mm) adapter to use your iPad, iPhone, or other small device's 3.5mm port to play some music over a PA system? Then look no further. This amazing piece of gear (or kit, if you're from somewhere East of the Atlantic) makes it possible to hear BOTH channels of music (that's right and left to you and me) through a mono-based PA system. Will this adapter solve the world's problems? No.Will this adapter make that hot girl (or guy) go home with you? Undetermined. Will it allow you to play music from a stereo source through a mono PA? Yes.My recommendation: solid piece of equipment that allows you to play stereo music on a mono PA system (although playback will not be in stereo; it will be mono through all speakers of the PA).

Pedalboard to computer
Okay, in this day and age with your recording software on your computer, I run my digital multi-effects straight into my machine. Using 3.5 mm stereo cables, all is good. But to run stomp boxes into your studio You are going to need one of these to go from the mono out stompbox pedalboard to the 3.5 mm Cable that is your line into the computer. (Digitech pedals have cabinet modeling. So they sound the best) Use two of them if you have stereo outputs. Without these, trying to run straight into your machine you only get the left channel. I try to litter the house with these, and now with the awesome price at Amazon. I can do exactly that!

Nothing special, that's why it's good
This little adapter works just fine. I've been using it for about 6 months now without issue. Nothing complicated and it seems like a good quality piece. Audio quality is as expected, no issues.

Cheap junk. Do not buy.
Very cheaply made, one of the two adapters I bought arrived already broken. I would not be surprised if this thing turned out to be made out of plastic covered with conductive paint... It is 50% lighter than an equivalent proper adapter. Everything about it says “don’t buy it”.

Works great for plugging instruments to speakers
After multiple false starts, I finally found an adapter that lets me plug in my electric ukulele to my speakers. The key is that my ukulele does not have a ring channel and so before I was only getting output from the left channel when I used a stereo 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. This mono 1/4 to stereo 1/8 adapter produces sound from my ukulele through both speaker channels.

Reduces stereo input to dual mono output; excellent for intended use
Monoprice Metal 6.35mm (1/4 Inch) Mono Plug to 3.5mm Stereo Jack Adaptor - Gold PlatedThis is the adapter that people who are deaf in one ear need for their wired headphones/earbuds. First take: excellent for intended use. Many people are deaf in one ear and are unable to appreciate stereo. In headphones it means that anything recorded in stereo can be listened to over one channel or the other, but not both channels simultaneously. In order to hear the complete sound you need to combine both channels and send the result to both ears (or a single ear plug for the hearing ear). This adapter does that.TL;DRLook at the bands: one band for mono, two for stereo. Stereo plug maintains channel separation; mono plug combines both channels together.

5 has not making a good enough connection and the 1/4 was a little loose ...
Very solid connection on both ends. Was having issues were the 3.5 has not making a good enough connection and the 1/4 was a little loose on a few converters. This one fits very snugly on both ends and seems really sturdy. Only downside I can see is if you use it a lot, its going to wear down the cable end because it sits so snugly, but I would rather have that then a loose connection that is only going to get looser over time.

Does the job with no issues
I took a chance on this in spite of the various reviews that complained about there being an issue with the size of the adapter and its compatibility with their devices, and I have had no problems with it. I use it with a Behringer Micromix in order to make the mixer compatible with commercial stereo headphones. Its solid design makes it superior to the more standard adapters which feature black plastic casing, which I find tend to break more easily.
