First off, this is a traditionally styled razor finished in matte nickel rather than the usual chrome., The nickel has a slight champagne tint that looks much more expensive than its price. I own an embarrassing number of razors and think this is one of the prettiest.Secondly, it has a nice bit of aggression. I actually bought it just for the handle to swap onto another head, but when the razor arrived I liked the overall look so much I took it for a test drive, hoping it would not be too mild.I like it. It's probably not a beginner's best choice, but anyone with a tough beard and a year or two of experience should enjoy the results. Best with a sharp blade (I used a Nacet,) it gives an efficient, close shave.BTW, I bought a second one, just for the handle.

This razor has an attractive matte finish. I don't consider it to be a beginner razor: It's not overly aggressive, but it has enough blade gap and exposure to cause problems for a new DE shaver (as you've probably already heard, use zero pressure--let the razor's weight do the work, and watch your angle). With proper prep and technique, this razor yields a very nice and efficient shave.
