Are the knives sturdy? They won't break or pull out of the handles will they?

they are very sturdy and made with a full tang so they shouldn't fall apart or pull out of the handle. They are every bit as sturdy as the Butz knife I have....

Will these work for carving pumpkins?

Hi Anne, Thank you for your question. Yes, our sets were designed for soft materials, and many of our customers also buy them for pumpkin carving. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thanks, Andrew HUTSULS Customer Support

Would the gloves fit a 10 year old or they would be too big?

I googled to get the average size hand of 10 year old and found that the gloves will be loose fitting and fingers long. In both cases it may be more of a safety hazard than protection. I hope this helps.
