WOW another great one with Herne
Another great, well written book. Awesome. This one starts out with a busload of young folks being waylayed by a group of hooded men. These young people are all environmentalists. They are protesting a mine. The Hobart mine. A mine thats removing the top of a mountain in West Virginia. Two of these people are killed and the rest badly beaten.Mike Herne, call sign Orion, is asked by his old boss, Alpha, to look for a girl. A girl who was part of the protests at the Hobart mine. The mine is located in the Appalachian mountains. Alpha is asking Mike for a personal favor. Mike agrees even though he's dealing with things at home. His mother has had a stroke, is in the hospital, and his older sister is being one huge PITA. She mirrors her mothers view of Mike. Its not at all flattering and she wishs Mike had never come home. She blames him for what happened when the Russians took them hostage. (Gotta read Operator to get the lowdown on that one.)Mikes other two sisters are glad he's home and Mike's doing his best to deal with his oldest sisters rancour and his far from loving Mother.Mike can't really do anything for his mother so he decides to go to West Virginia. So begins one really great read. This one has racists, environmentalists, ex Spec Ops guys, Activity, friends, enemies, a gutsy lady FBI Agent, murder, torture, explosions, traitors and Mike Herne.Just a super read and well worth those five stars.

Loved the 2nd Michael Herne story!
Two stories in it's clear this series has great potential. I greatly enjoy this genre and especially series built on a strong major character. Mitch Rapp. John Rain. Milo Weaver. Nick Stone. Jack Reacher. Michael Herne. The second book has a terrific fast pace, which I think is enabled by writing in the 1st person. It really works well in a story built around a single star character.Grab a copy and watch the time melt away as you race to keep up with Herne.

good sophomore effort
This Michael Herne character is turning out to be compelling and a worthwhile read. Intense, focused, humble, conflicted, inner demons. The right mixture for an interesting spy assassin.I held back in the 5th star for the rating because some if the action sequences are counter to the characters inner reluctance. Just too over-the-top impossible for 1 guy to keep doing. Doesn't fit well with the rest of the story. Hopefully the author dials this back a little on the 3rd installment. Good read overall .

good story, but .....
I liked the story. The integrating event, a search for a missing person, carries the story well, but somehow, I cannot put my finger on it, some of the events felt contrived and illogical. It seems that if left alone, the protagonist would have reached a dead end on his own, never discovering the plot behind her disappearance. I simply kept asking, why did they do that? I was never persuaded that their actions against him were necessary.

Another great Michael Herne novel
Another great Michael Herne thriller by David Vinjamuri. Right from the beginning he grabs your attention and keeps it by taking the reader through many twists and turns while also offering intricate and fascinating detail about subjects varying from an operator's mindset to West Virginia coal mining to idealistic environmentalists to a sophisticated and evil white supremacist organization. The dialogue is crisp and the plot is gripping from start to finish. Great surprise ending which caught me completely off guard. No spoiler alert here--read the book.

Another good Michael Herne book...
Like the first book with this character, there is plenty of action. Good detail and interesting plot. Not a great book, but a good one. I thank the author for his treatment of WV and it's people, my home state. I hope he continues to develop his fiction and Michael Herne. This book, like it's predecessor, is well worth the kindle cost.

Heart-pounding!
This was my second book by this author and he didn't let me down. Character development was very well done. Like the authors, Russell Blake and Gary Grossman, David Vinjamuri has a grasp of his genre. If you want a book that will keep you turning the pages and finding hard to put down, this is your book! I look forward to more from this author.

3.5 Stars
Binder is a good book, it is not a great book. But, Mr. Vinjamuri has definitely created something worth reading. The plot is believable and the characters are well developed. Most importantly, the book is entertaining. Some of the action sequences are not very believable and I felt the story seemed a little forced in places. But, I think David Vinjamuri is developing into a remarkable author. I will definitely be purchasing his next book.

Good read, not as good as Operator.
This is well written, well paced and believable unlike many thrillers in this genre. It's main problem is that it isn't as much of a breakneck thrill ride as the first book. Overall it keeps your interest and I'll read any third instalment.

Must read!!
I am a huge fan of David Vinjamuri. Action packed great story line and Michael Herne, the lead character is not someone you want to cross but also someone most men would love to be. I could hardly put this book down. This follow up book to his first novel is as good or even better. It's ending opens up flawlessly into the hope of a trillogy.David if you read this review please let me know if you are hard at work writing the next book in this series.
