Will protect rib cage
This is a great product.

Offers great protection
I play basketball often and this protects my rib cage from being elbow'd. The padding is very lightweight but the hex design absorbs force rather well.It is more expensive than the lesser known brands, but I pay for UA's brand recognition and I would like to believe their material is better (though I haven't tried the cheaper brands that I never heard of).

Fantastic vest
Wearing this for the added side protection, as well as the compression effect it provides, makes me think that I should buy more. But it’s good quality so don’t need to fret

Insufficient frontal rib coverage
The ease of putting on and taking off was great, as most of the compression shirt-style rib protectors are challenging to remove. My issue was the lack of frontal rib protection. The sides and back of the ribs are covered, and the padding itself was fine, but I'd say 1/2 of my ribs in the front were left unprotected, as in the padding didn't start until 6-8 inches from my sternum. This left the rib joints and a significant chunk of the ribs themselves unprotected in the front, which for my purposes (recovering from cracked rib in Jiu Jitsu), was insufficient.

Can wear entire day if needed OR if you just don't want the fight to take it off
This is surprisingly comfortable to wear throughout a day. I tossed a curve ball (pun totally intended) at this top. I am not a guy and I wore it. I am 5'9' 180lbs with a 34/36B chest. I fit in the guidelines of the size and play sports / go to the gym / have small children that jump on me or that I carry (and they sit Right where the pads do) all the time. So this went on without any major issues, my girls were tucked in nicely for the day. The shirt didn't ride up and I wore this for several hours. Worked out, played, and practiced fielding with my grandson. This worked really well, protected my sides, pulled moister away from my body and offered nice compression. Now onto the FUN Part...As a women I have put on some serious clothing to rock a look. I have even been sewn into a dress once. Nothing in all of my life prepared me for the removal of this tank. One of my arms got stock above my head with my face pressed into grey material as the second arm flayed about. All I can say is I am pretty sure I looked like a live action version of Han Solo getting frozen in Carbonate. My cries of 'help' and 'get the scissors' were met with a clicking noise (Pretty sure my guy took photos) and laughter (I really hope he hurt something). Eventually, he had to peel this up as I backed out of it. The padding molds well to you while on but isn't 'bendy' allowing this to come off easily.I washed / dried it on delicate and as directed. I would NEVER take this off alone.
