Sun and Moon
This book was heartbreaking and at the same time absolutely beautiful, it gave me all the feels. He was the moon and she was the Sun his light Jax and Kennedy are friends who become lovers and work to heal together. They are patient with each other because they both understand that the path to healing isnât just a straight line and that itâs ok to have setbacks. I love how no matter what they were there for each other and never judged or put the other down. Their love was beautiful and I loved reading about it. Also a side note jaxâs family is just terrible especially the dad, and the brother was so wrong iykyk (except for the mom who excepted him for who he was), he was too good of a soul for them and they didnât deserve him.Rate: 4.25âď¸

Both heartbreaking and uplifting
My heart hurts for what both Jax and Kennedy went through. Their tragedies seemed to dictate their futures, until fate stepped in. Childhood camp buddies that had a chance encounter as adults that would forever change the paths they were each on. No one deserves happiness more than these two people. Literally the kindest, most loyal person ever, that was Jax, once you understood his life, And Kennedy, the sweetest, most lovable soul! My attraction to both of them was immediate and I flew through the book with a purpose, to find their HEA. Triumph after tragedy.

Loved it!
As with all of Brittany Cherry's book, I completely devoured it. I happily ignored my chores and errands for the day to read this book. It's been a long time since a book has grabbed my attention like this; I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

it was good
I enjoyed this book. It was interesting that we didnât get closure from the ex husband. Solid friends to lovers. I wish their adult friendship was explored more. Slow burn took a hot second but it was worth it

âSunâ And âMoonâ Were Always Destined To Be Together
Another relationship story beautifully written by a stellar author. Jax and Kennedy cherished a unique relationship as young adolescents during their weeks in summer camp. I loved Kennedyâs quirky personality. As adults, they were destined to meet up again when Kennedy takes up residence in small town Havenbarrow where Jax lived, following the breakup of her marriage to a self absorbed man. Both Jax and Kennedy have personal demons to contend with.I fell in love with the secondary characters in this story, especially Connor, Jaxâs teenage assistant in his plumbing business and Joy, the self imposed shut in. Both were such refreshingly colorful characters. Connorâs entrepreneur endeavors with his Cuber App and his heartwarming love for his ill mother made my heart melt. He understood the somewhat grumpy Jax and was a truly devoted friend and partner. Joy exuded so much love and sprinkled pearls of wisdom to those who bothered to know her. It was refreshing to see how she was confident and comfortable in her life choices and remained unaffected by those who chose to bully her.The storyline of this book is fairly straightforward as we journey along with Jax and Kennedy and their predictable connection. There is a short âOh Wow!â moment towards the end of the book that I didnât see coming. I must say that I developed more âfeelsâ for Connor and Joy than I did for Jax and Kennedy. Prior to writing this review I tried to determine why that was and I concluded that I needed a little more story about Kennedy beyond the well written camp scenarios. Jaxâs character was well developed, in my opinion, offering me the sense that I knew him and could relate to why he presented himself as he did, especially due to the troubled family dynamics. The story concluded with a satisfying epilogue. Although this is Book One in the Compass series and is listed as a stand alone romance, I must disagree with that. Book Two is Connorâs story and I would have to strongly suggest to any reader, please read this book first to acquaint yourself with Connor as a hard working, kindhearted teen before reading Book Two which begins with Connor as a 25 year old. Looking forward to Connorâs story!

Heartwarming Moments
3.5 stars. This book was a bit slow. However, I am glad I gave it a chance. It had some heartwarming moments. I liked that this book didn't play games with long time frames of mental insecurities or misunderstandings keeping them away from one another.Though it wasn't exciting, it was refreshing. It didn't follow the worn out format of the typical love story and I am glad that someone was creative and brave enough to deviate from the the same old tired format. While this book didn't make me excited for more, it was engaging enough to finish.

For the storm too shall pass.
Southern Storms wasn't my favourite of B.C's books, the element series is hands down amazing whereas book one of this fell short for me, there were so many questions left unanswered and grammar errors that were surprising to find as I read through the entire story. The edge of emotion was missing as the story failed to grip on my heart strings. While enjoyable I just had higher expectations from this author.

I don't think I have the words... beautiful?
Wow, Kennedy and Jax!Now we all love a story with a happy ending but this is so so much more. I've cried and I've smiled through out their story, their love is vast and their heart break deep. A definite read, and I'm going to read more from Brittany cherry in the future- but not straight away, my heart couldn't take it!

One of my faves
Love her writing, her characters are just sublime. Story telling at its best. I fall in love with all the couple's in Brittainy's books and every time I think there my perfect couple. I really really did love Jax and Kennedy though. Two broken souls, childhood friends with years apart, only to find themselves 15 years later living in the same town. Both having been through so much. Please read, so good. A great way of taking our minds off the bad stuff the world is going through at the moment and filling in some of the isolation time. ...loved Connor BTW, I'm sure he could get a storyđđ
