Review: Great product and easy to install and use. - This anchor winch works great. Easy to install and easy to use. No more hauling up my 20 lb. vinyl coated anchor from 30 feet. Even shows up on my sounder and I can track the depth and see when its almost to the surface. I'm also going to use it for my 8 lb. downrigger weight. I can remotely raise or lower it with the remote control. I have spot lock on my trolling motor so I don't really need an anchor anymore. So I'll using the winch for the trolling weight.

**Q: Will this hold a 23ft cuddy on ariver?**
A: Hi Mr. Albert,It really depends on the conditions of the river and also the weight of your boat.  This unit will retrieve a max anchor weight of 35lbs but TRAC recommends not going over 30LBs as often sticks and mud can come up with the anchor adding additional weight.  If the river is a very strong current then it might not be sufficient.  So the bottom line is will your boat be held in place in the rivers you anchor in with a 30LB anchor (it is also recommended that a river or mushroom anchor be used) ... **Q: Whats the rope strength?**
A: 1/4" nylon para cord....never had an issue in 9 years......pulls anchor out of muddy bottoms without issue.

**Q: Upon retrieval, does the anchor sit firmly in a horizontal position, or does the anchor hang down (dangle) vertically?**
A: The anchor is going to hang down.  Not sure if you can adjust so anchor sits horizontal.

**Q: have a 21 ft. stripper fishing boat.  It weighs about 5,000lbs.  Would like an electric anchor winch.  What do you suggest?  Cost to install?**
A: I installed mine on a 185 Bass Tracker. I had to get a new relay when I first got it but thats the only problem I've ever had with it..I removed the braided steel cable and installed a 1/4" braided nylon line. which has worked like a Champ.
