I bought this CD because I was directing an amateur production of The Vicar of Dibley and I wanted to get ideas for costumes. I have to say I had forgotten just how the characters in this series developed from the first episode to this series. Hilarious is an understatement! I think this is a classic TV series and the marriage of Hugo and Alice must go down as one of the most memorable TV moments. Excellent show

I've noticed that the sixth comment on this makes no sense at all..as they are referring to season 2.. This is season 1 collection on show.. Not season 2.. All I can say is vicar of Dibley what more can I say but Brilliantly written comedy and Acting 5 Stars....

Dawn French was born to play the Vicar of Dibley. This comedy should appeal to all but if you happen to go to church it may just be even funnier. We'd all love a vicar like Geraldine! Great acting from a brilliant cast of actors. Bought for an elderly friend but young and old alike in my house love this show.

Arrived promptly and was watched and enjoyed by my family. My only quibble (and it's with whoever's put the DVD together, not Amazon) is that the Christmas Special had spoilers for the upcoming series.

Who cannot laugh at this series? A motley array of eccentric villagers, and a lady vicar that attempts to help them all. One of my all time favourite series. One I shall watch time and time again and still laugh!

Love this show and this particular season is exceptionally cheap. Great laughs!

When we first discovered the Vicar back in the'90s, we thought it very funny, overdue as it were, and always a welcome diversion from the daily grind. After recycling our old VHS machine, we decided to at least purcahse the first series on disc, just so we could revisit Geraldine and the gang. Well, almost 20 years on, it is surprisingly fresh and smart. We're glad to welcome the vicar back.
