Wonderful old time taste. I will buy again.
It is hard to find course yellow corn meal at my area grocery stores, unless I settle for 1 or 2 pound bags at ridiculous prices. Also, this offers fabulous taste while being much cheaper per pound. If you worry that it will become stale you can vacuum seal portions, if that is your concern. BTW, I have found that freezer zip bags do a great job as well. Excellent taste and grind consistency.

Great for polenta
I use this product for two things. It makes great polenta. Measure cold water in a 4.5 to one ratio and let the mixture soak for several hours or overnight. Then you can cook your polenta in 30 minutes or so. A knob of butter and a bit of parmigiana cheese and you'll be back in Italy. Don't forget to stir often. I also sprinkle it on my peal when I make pizza. The course corn meal acts like little ball bearings so that the dressed pizza will slide off the peal and onto my screaming hot pizza stone without worries. Highly recommended if you make pizza at home (and if you don't, you should).

Really coarse
I like to buy coarse ground corn meal to make polenta and muffins. This is the coarse’s meal I have ever seen. A very pleasant surprise. Add it to my variety of grains.

Don't use for cornbread!
I ordered this because a recipe I found for GF cornbread said to get a coarse grind cornmeal. There were no recipes on the back of the package to tell you how to use it. When I tried to make it, the first thing I noticed was that the cornmeal would not mix with the liquid ingredients. I went ahead and put it in the oven to bake, figuring that something might happen in the cooking. The cornbread did come out mixed, but it felt like gravel in our mouths. Maybe it is used for something else and performs well, but most definitely not for cornbread! I threw away $10 and I was very disappointed.

It is a powerful anti fungal
COntrary to what you migh tthink, corn in this form is a pwoerful natural anti fungal. In it processed forms it can do the opposite. but this is kosher non gmo corn, not processed (other than minimally cut apart)... I take 1/2 tbsp twice a day with water to add to my anti fungal regimen. ive been fungus, itch, and auto immune response free for almost 4 months now. Of course i use other things to help me get here but cornmeal is a forever maintenance to never go back to ffungal infection. use 2 to 4 tbp in rice cooker w every batch of rice for a delicious popcorn reminiscent yet nutty taste boost to your wild or brown rices!

Decent quality coarse ground corn - Inconsistent batch, varies upon second order
The item arrived as expected however the second batch ordered was more fine ground than coarse from the first batch which was nice and coarse as expected and pictured. Quality seems ok. No bugs and generally consistent throughout without too many black bits.
