Thin slices
I was able to set this for thin slices and it works. You have to tighten the middle screw pretty tight but it's better than the others I tried.

Cheese slicer
Works very well slicing cheese. I do like that it is adjustable. Different cheese cuts require different cuts.

Works great with smaller wire
I bought this model because we've had one of exact same design for 35yrs and still works with original wire. This new one came with a heavier gauge wire and wire wasn't pulled as tight as the old one. It didn't cut well and was sloppy so I took the heavy wire off and bought some 0.17in (0.4mm) dia stainless wire. There's a trick to getting the wire taught.Cut plenty of extra wire so you have play to wrap and work with.First screw both screws in until there is a space between screw head edge and handle frame enough to wrap the wire many times around the screw before tightening.Hold end of wire in small needle nose pliers and wrap wire clockwise 5 or more times around screw shaft on one end of cutter while trying to keep tension on wire with your hand. Then with tension still on wire tighten, turn screw in with correct size Phillips driver. (it helps here to have a soft face vise to hold cutter). Then proceed to attach to other end but first twist pliers to wrap wire several times around plier's needle nose end to help hold it.Then pull wire straight very tight and wrap clockwise several times around the screw. Then while trying to keep tension on wire, tighten screw.I was able to do this successfully without a vise but it would be handy. Also I have even cheese cuts if I tighten the thickness adjustment screw with channel lock pliers as tight as possible (make sure it's centered and straight on both ends).Additionally much more consistent cheese cuts if I lift the block and start the cut from the bottom and move up. As I approach top I put my fingers against the cheese until the wire meets on one end and work across.

Used for more than cheese.
It will slice soft meat too like SPAM.

Wire is too loose.
Slices cheese well but this slicer wire is too loose and I have not had a chance to see if it can be tightened.

Don't bother
Leave it to Chinese companies to take a proven design and cheapen it to the point where it barely works. In this case, the wire is so flexible it won't pull through a block of cheese. Waste of money...

Discouraged
Unfortunately, the blade/wire is not really adjustable from what I can see. The first time using it on some Gouda cheese, the wire bent out of shape so badly it isnt very usefull. If i try to cut a thin slice, it skips ontop. If its a thicker slice it might be thick, thin or half and half by time I finish cutting it. Years of being the obsesive evener of everyone's cheese blocks is down the drain as I can not even my own without getting creative with a basic knife and melting the chunks down as breakfast cheese bombs. I should roll them in crushed cornflakes and fry them up perhaps. As I was saying, all previous slicers of this type had thinner wire that adjusted easily to tighten it up and cut cleanly nice eaven slices. Maybe the extra width of this mini machine is why it is the qay it is and i have unrealistic expectations but... this one is pretty useless for any cheeses I eat. 🧀

Slips off of cheese block
I had one very similar to this one in the past and it worked great. This one however the wire seems thicker and as one reviewer stated it won't slice properly. It just slips off the edge of a block of cheese. I am returning it.

The wire is too loose for effective cutting
Over all it feels good in the hand, and lots of adjustability but the wire is too loose for effective cutting. Quite disappointing for the price

Pour fromage mou
Pour du fromage mou c'est excellent mais pour des fromages ex: gouda , suisse....pas trop bon
