10,000 miles and no leaks!
Steering rack was a perfect fit for my 2004 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4wd. Install was pretty straightforward if you know what you’re doing and have the right tools. It was a great value over the most racks. I have had no issues with leaks after 10,000 miles.

Cheap junk!!! Don't waste your money
BUYER BEWARE!!! Installed this on my tundra and after only 2 1/2 years it's leaking badly. Removed the boot to see where it was leaking and it's running out of the shaft. The chrome plating rusted and is chipping off damaging seals. I called the company because it "supposedly" has a "lifetime warranty" only to find out that's only if you give them your original oem steering rack to ACTIVATE your warranty. I offered to buy another rack and ship back the one they sold me that clearly has a manufacturing defect to get a refund. I was told that's not how it works and that would only activate the warranty on what would be my 2nd purchased from them. I would seriously consider buying elsewhere. Very poor quality and customer service. They don't stand behind there products and are sure to find a way out of the warranty someway or another. Very unhappy and disappointed with Detroit axel.

Sturdy Build, Smooth Steering Restoration, Slight Fitment Sensitivity
Installed this Detroit Axle rack and pinion assembly on a 2020 Honda Pilot. The unit arrived well-packaged with no signs of oil leakage or physical damage—always a good sign for such critical components. Performance-wise, after installation, the steering responsiveness was noticeably restored to OEM-like levels with no unusual noises or binding. The build quality feels solid, with well-machined surfaces and acceptable finish. The steering play was reduced significantly, and there was no fluid seepage during the initial break-in period (approx. 500 km). Critique: Fitment was slightly sensitive. The alignment of the ports required precise positioning; a minor deviation would result in tension during steering at low speeds. I recommend carefully checking torque specs and mount alignment, as tolerances seem tighter than OEM. Additionally, the input shaft cover design could benefit from a dust boot upgrade for long-term harsh environment exposure. Overall, a cost-effective aftermarket replacement, with performance close to OEM, but requires attentive installation. Would buy again, but I would suggest the manufacturer provide clearer fitment guidance in the box.

Great money saving alternative
This part saved me a big chunk of change and I have had zero issues with it in my daily driven '05 Infiniti. Installation offered no real challenges, after all it is a factory part so fit is a non issue. Goes right where the other part came from. They ask you to ship your old one back as a core charge using their prepaid label and the box the replacement came to you in. Supposedly, this activates your warranty but I have received no word from Detroit Axle verifying that. That's about the closest I can come to a negative about this product. I would definitely use another one of these if any of my other vehicles develops a need.
