Moen 9601 ChoiceFlo Replacement Water Filter Compatible with Moen Sip Filtered Kitchen Faucets

A great set up for having filtered drinking water at your finger tips with a water filter that lasts up to six months or longer depending on how much water one drinks. The filter is easy to install and is affordable.Moen designed a fantastic kitchen faucet with a water filter water spout underneath the neck of the regular water spout. It took away the large cumbersome water filter attachment that Brita developed.It is unfortunate that Moen stopped marketing this faucet, along with this Choiceflo water filter. Once again I took to the internet and found this water filter on Amazon, which I refer to as Amazing Amazon.I am most pleased to know that I can continue to replace the filter through Amazon.

There isn't much to say about the Choiceflo 9601 filter. It is basically the OEM replacement, and it does what it is supposed to do. It comes with installation instructions and a replacement battery. I found it fairly easy to install -- just take the old one off and screw on the new one (after replacing the battery.) It couldn't be easier. The original filter work well purifying our tap water and it was used well past the 6 month recommended replacement date. If this filter isn't heavily used, my personal take is that it can last about a year before needing replacement. We installed a Moen CA77200 faucet when we did our kitchen about 9 months ago. The combination of that faucet with this filter works really well for us. We like that the flow rate is a better than some of those filters that mount to the end of a standard faucet, and it seems to do a better job. The water taste is indistinguishable from the bottled water we were buying (maybe a little better, in fact). My husband is more sensitive to that than I am, and he's perfectly happy with it. We actually drink more water and less soda and coffee now, because we have a constant supply of good-tasting water.It is important to note that you can't run out and buy these at Lowe's or Home Depot. Not a problem for us, but it might annoy people who don't like to order things online. But each filter lasts about 6 months, so it's not too much of a hassle. (Buy 2, and you only have to do it once a year.)

This was my 9th purchase of this product in 5 years. It was the 1st time that it did not include the battery. The filter itself is great. Water taste is good. The change filter reminder mechanism is not great. Missed the çhange until I noticed date I wrote on filter

I chose this over generic to replace my S5500 system filter because this one says it filters lead and the others say they do not. Didn’t have any problem installing like everyone else said. It took me two minutes (plus running it for fifteen minutes after installation, as instructed to flush the charcoal). Comes with instructions and replacement watch battery. Good flow after first five minutes. I used my last one for a year without degraded flavor. Thought I shouldn’t push it any longer.

To take out the old filter first, one just has to reverse the installation steps listed in the accompanying documentation. Assuming a vertical mounting position on the back wall under your sink, you twist the cartridge to the left and pull down. Pulling it down is harder than it looks. I had to forcibly wiggle it from side to side as well as pulling down on the cartridge with one hand while holding the mounting bracket with the other hand to get the sealing O-rings to release their hold. In this process only a few drops of water are leaked. Good to go for another six months.

As the title shows - good but overpriced. No further comments!

I first used the filters attached to the faucet but was tired of fighting the bulky units when filling pitchers or pots in the sink. I was thrilled to see that Moen had an easier concept of putting the filter under the sink. The faucet was easy to install and have enjoyed for several years. The filters are fairly easy to replace but sometimes it can get awkward being under the sink but they last six months so it's not an issue for me. I worry when the filter keeps changing product number but they always fit and work well, no leaks. I am hoping that Moen will incoporate this type of filter in other faucets including bathroom fixtures.
