Garmin DriveSmart 65 & Traffic: GPS Navigator with a 6.95ǃ˘ Display, Included Traffic alerts and Information to enrich Road Trips & BC 40, Wireless Backup Camera

I have a still-functioning Nuvi3590LMT; but I bought this one for the Backup Camera feature. It took a while to get the camera installed & functioning/paired (Dumb Me!! I only had new DuraCell Alkaline batteries available which are not recommended per the Users Manual). I bought a pack of Energizer Lithium AA batteries and the camera paired with the GPS immediately. I have a 2006 F150 SuperCab Harley Davidson Edition; so I am near the Blue-Tooth limit for distance between camera & GPS.The Back-Up Camera image (on medium sensitivity is unbelievably clear and sharp (much, much better than the built-in cameras on my other vehicles!). The alignment bars in the image curve as you turn the wheel and change colors to indicate proximity to an object in the path of the truck.The GPS screen is easily readable while mounted near the base of the drivers side of the windshield.The voice-recognition feature seems to work well and that is really handy since the there is a pretty good distance across the dash to reach the GPS. I can reach it; but contact requires some twisting and stretching to get to it. While cruising at 80 or so on the Interstate, I'd rather not have to do so. I could move the GPS to the top of the windshield; but it would be a distraction at night and would require taking my eyes off the road to enter data or change screens day or night.This unit is not cheap; but seems well worth the price based on all the various functions (including voice-activated hands-free calling while my phone is paired to the GPS via BlueTooth). I also have the MyGarmin app on my phone so it will show weather on the route ahead of me. I have had the 3590 for 7 or 8 years and I hope this unit will last as long. The free Lifetime Maps & Traffic updates certainly will add to the longevity. I can also do Map updates while the vehicle is parked in the garage because it links to my WiFi network.The only draw-back I can see is the vulnerability to theft while parked in a parking lot at a shopping center, etc. Therefore, I remove the camera and the GPS when I park, put them in the BOVKE Case I also bought on Amazon, and put the case under the back seat for safe-keeping.

I had two reasons for buying this unit, I needed a GPS but I also needed a monitor for a backup camera for my truck. This unit fulfilled all of my needs and exceeded my expectations. I like all the information that comes onto the screen that comes from my cellphone, texts, emails, news updates. A really nice feature is the weather radar. Set up was a breeze. This unit really exceeded my expectations.

Easy to set up. The voice commands are fantastic. The video quality is good. So far serves me well. I also like the Bluetooth connection to the iPhone. I can make calls hands free and gives me reminders as well. Awesome!!!

Works great but sad it doesn't have voice command feature.
