I plugged these in every room and but them on the middle setting. One of the other settings had a distinctive sound and would have driven me crazy, and the other was fine, but the instructions said it was the lowest setting, After a couple of months of use I continued to see fruit flies, even hovering around the device, and roaches will continue to make their way into my home and do not seem to be affected. I didn't not have an intense problem, just the occasional bug and I don't want any to want to come into my home. I decided no to have pest control come so I get know if this product worked, and I think I can definitively say it did not. This is one of those products that I believe is predatory as people get desperate and want to find something that will keep their home safe from bugs. I know it is too late to return the product, but I knew that was a possibility when I go it.
