Not 4 mil end to end.
Plastic was not the same thickness end to end for the entire 50 feet. I was using this to black out windows for a photo project and the thickness wasn't consistent. I would have returned it, but I was pressed for time and just ended up doubling the plastic on the thin side. I made it work, but it wasted my time. Like I am doing now writing this review to warn others. I will never get that time back. That is time I could have spent with my family or doing anything besides doubling up plastic that should have been the same {expletive} thickness in the first {expletive} place.

Used for Earthbox covers.
Purchased this February 2017 to make my own replacement covers for several earthboxes. Just cut it to size, put a bungee cord around the earthbox and voila, new cover. I cut X's in plastic where I wanted my tomatoes, peppers, eggplants to go. Plants grew great with this sturdy material. I'm in Zone 7B. I rinsed them off at the end of the season, stored in garage over winter, and they are back in use for a second garden season in 2018.

Works well as weed barrier and lasts for years if covered with coarse mulch
Our 2 flat building in Chicago had been neglected for decades and was totally overgrown with weeds, trash saplings and out-of-control vining ground cover. Repeated Round Up applications killed about 80% but the vines had deep roots and kept coming back, so I pulled out as much as possible by hand and then covered all the ground with a larger version of this same plastic sheeting. Four mil is thick enough to be pretty durable and to smother almost any surviving weeds or vines.I cut X-shaped holes In the plastic to plant new shrubs and plants and folded the “petals” back to contain as many weeds as possible, then covered the plastic with 2 inches of coarse mulch to hold it in place. Three years later, the vegetation is thriving and the only weeds are from seeds that blow into the mulch, which are easy to pull by hand or to spritz with Round Up.Bought this roll to replace the film in my vegetable garden in the back yard because I wanted to move the tomato plants to new positions. The old plastic was still in good shape but I had cut so many X's to move plants aver the years, weeds could grow in the unused openings. It was easy to roll up the old plastic with what remained of the mulch and put down a new strip. Six X cuts later, the new starter plants were in place and surrounded with a fresh layer of mulch. This is an excellent product for this application so you can enjoy your plants and shrubs without messing with weeds.

Homemade water slide!! Held up!!
This worked great when we made a homemade waterside for our youth group! It's a little narrow, but perfect for the price! It held up when being used by adults and teenagers. We used flat plastic garden stakes to hold it down, no ripping; and baby shampoo with the water hose. I will purchase this again!

It's a long garbage bag!
I expected that I was receiving 4mm material but when you unroll it and open it up, it's in no way close to 4mil. They likely got their dimension because the plastic is folded on itself four times on the roll. Don't be tricked by their inept measuring skills. There is better material out there that lets water drain through it and is much thicker. The water pools on this and that creates a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Able to withstand fourteen rowdy pre-teen boys
Bought this for slip n slide baseball. Needed two rolls, but this plastic withstood fourteen 9-10 year old rowdy boys so well that I was able to rinse it off and hang it up to dry overnight, then roll it right back up for the next game.

Its the perfect size for most garden beds
Its the perfect size for most garden beds, it is easy to lay down, and with a little weight on the corners I'm sure it will kill off my annoying weed... grass lawn in time for spring. If not, its not the products fault that I put it down late. Two rolls did half my backyard in the areas I will be growing in. (1/4 acre with a home on property. Average home. To give you an idea of what you get out of it.)Will try to remember to update in a few months after a few weeks of sun. to tell you how it held up.

Great for Landscaping
Great for landscaping... works 10x better than landscape fabric because it dosen't allow the roots to grow on it and it's so much cheaper! Use the before applying mulch or stones to a new bed or when building a patio. Only thing is if your bed is on a big hill/ slant, the material may run off the plastic.
